Probably, but that certainly doesnt make him " an inept manager" does it.
He is exactly what Labour are missing. A Campbell figure. Somebody intelligent in background. Corbyn had McDonnel and Abott.
And (if article in Guardian is to be believed) he is doing opposite of politicizing Civil Service. He wants to appoint on merit. Not political affiliation, gender or race. (The article and OJ's post makes that very point, accepted you dont read links)
You are prejudging everything. Give them time, give them the rope. They might hang themselves they just might build bridges. We dont know yet. Its called having on open mind OG. You should try it.
Or perhaps you, d still rather have Corbyn and his dithering, new none deal, neverendum and his "cultural diversity" BS.
You really are incorrigible. I am not a Corbyn fan, and don't want labour anywhere near power until Brexit is resolved satisfactorily or more likely otherwise.
Plenty of time to regroup.

One of you will be a sort of personal assistant to me for a year —
so his project is a new 'The Apprentice Show' but instead of looking for common qualities, his apprentice will have to be weirdo/misfit/thinking out of a box one like himself?

Here is your chance, BBC.

His previous record does show him to be quite inept, in particular his airline venture showed him to be very foolish. But I'm not concerned about Cummings, his approach to our problems will fail anyway.

What concerns me more is Boris Johnsons appalling record with the appointments he's made, including Cummings. When first elected London mayor he appointed four cronies to be his senior members in the administration. Two were almost instantly exposed as having given false details, one of them already a proven criminal, and both had to be sacked. The other two followed shortly after due to sheer incompetence.

Add that to the very expensive mistakes he made in office in London and his incompetence becomes very obvious, even without considering what a mess he made as Foreign Secretary.

I don’t disagree, but we must try something to change things. Essentially our choices were Team Johnson, Team Corbyn or Team Swinson. Which team would you say has the better chance of sorting out our public service inefficiency and poor performance, however small that chance may be? I don’t accept that more funding is the solution, that may result in a slight increase in output, but efficiency will fall further.

Yes, well I know all this, but what about the alternative we were offered. You really would rather have DA home secretery or Chancelor, Mcdonell deputy, Corbyn PM and McCluskey pulling strings.
Its exactly as when MUFC grumbled at and eventually sacked LVG, there really wasnt an altetnative. In that situation you have to stick with best of bad bunch. I can not really see point in all this fuss grumbling at Boris, Cummungs, Tories when there really isnt an alternative. OG says he voted Corbyn but actually didnt want him, Flecc argues he wanted Corbyn but hoping parliament would stop him doing anything and then for him to go.
Yes, Tories arent perfect, neither is Boris or Cummings but they sure as hell are best on offer at moment, and foreseeable future. And, like I said earlier, credit where credit due. Making right noises so far. Judge them in 5 years, its not 5 weeks yet.

Well Danny - don't apply for any of the jobs Cummings was advertising for - that's exactly the kind of attitude we don't want.
It is probably highly desirable for the higher levels of the British Civil Service to be occupied by technocrats, and not by people whose main ability is a First in English Lit. from Oxbridge . However a State is not a small hi tech start up, where failure is measured in thousands of dollars and bruised egos.

At time thought him lesser of two evils and thought welfare/infrastructure needs massive investment which he promised. I actually thought whoever wins I hope they get a good majority, to get away from three years of indecision. Since BJ has won with very strong majority and he seems to be trying to do right thing its not so bad and actually quite positive, especially compared to how it could have been under Corbyn with a weak government.
Time to move on, give Tories time to make a hash of it or succeed and in same time Labour should be rebuilding to offer a semblence of opposition next GE.
Starmer is beginning to make right noises.
I, m actually impressed with Cumming's latest blog /advert/ rambling. And I, m more impressed with Boris than I was. His post election speech was good and his visit north useful.
There simply is no point being negative about everything OG. Crying Wolf and all that.

Nothing has changed its no good going through a” wishful thinking “ phase
As an example the front page of the daily mail announces there will be a £56 billion pound tourism boom after Brexit
No reason given.
The simple truth is we are taking a dreadful risk simply to protect offshore bank tax swindles, why do I say this?
It’s the only fact available

But OG you, ve been saying this for over 3 years. Ok, you might be right. We, ll see in next 10 years or so. Its pointless making same point again and again and again... Ad infinitum.
Personally think you are wrong. But there you go.

Time will tell, but unfortunately I think that OG is correct , and the UK is on a path to improvishment. Whether as he asserts , it is due to pending EU taxation legislation, is purely an opinion on motive...but is plausible.

Turning back into a leaver on the basis of a few honeyed words?
Haven't you learned a lesson yet?
There are lies, damned lies, and BJ's promises!
Though some were comedy gold, such as
"lie in front of the Bulldozers"
"Die in a ditch"
Know what I mean?
Mind you the Express went one better with this
"
BORIS JOHNSON heralded a “decade of prosperity” while welcoming in the New Year with an optimistic message. The Prime Minister hailed the 2020s as a new chapter for the UK, with Brexit paving the way to a land of hope and glory.

I'm all agog! can't wait!
laughs hysterically
Land of hope and glory.........more like land of hopeless Torys :D

However on a less cheerful note Trump seems to be doing a "Thatcher" and cooking up a war to divert attention from his unpopularity.
History truly repeats itself doesn't it?
I do hope Boris doesn't harbour any daft notions of getting us involved to curry favour.

Remembrance days are once a year. OG has made this point 17000 times in 3 years. Dont encourage him Danidl.
Its an obsession with him.

And you have continued this campaign of personal attacks how many times?
Perhaps I should check so people can see how obsessive you have become?
I am opposing something I intensely dislike that affects us all
What's your excuse?

That was not a personal attack OG. Very slight exageration perhaps but nearer truth than not. You have made the same points (perhaps 3 of them) thousands of times, unfortunately to almost identical audience as 3 years ago.
