This is interesting
"
Nigel Farage has told supporters that instead of publishing an election manifesto, the Brexit Party will issue "a contract with the British people", according to reports.

I think he mean a Contract on the British people

It's a bit rich that we have a party paid for and owned by Russian money complaining about an opposition it claims is working for Russia voluntarily!

Here is the latest cock up by a Conservative

Can you imagine how the world regards us now? we have become a laughing stock.

What's the world coming to when even Andrew Neal himself of all people has a go at them?
It's all insane!

I’m just watching Panorama. There is a strange lady saying she likes Boris Johnson because he’s a liar. She then went on to say he’s straightforward with no hidden agenda. A liar with no hidden agenda? How queer.

The Telegraph front page upset someone enough to change this
Original

To this

Surely there is a conflict of interest where the Prime minister is in the employ of a Newspaper?

Good grief!
Tom Watson

@tom_watson

After 35 years in full-time politics, I've decided to step down and will be campaigning to overcome the Tory-fuelled public health crisis. I'm as committed to Labour as ever. I will spend this election fighting for brilliant Labour candidates and a better future for our country.

Great isnt it. Any MPs with any morals or decency must resign. Its the ultimate catch 22.
Mind you I must have had yet another kick to the head by a horse. Listened to Comrade Corbyn today. He was talking about JRM and Grenfell. He actually spoke sense without jumping on bandwagon and not attacking JRM. (Common sense would have been not to cut fire service personell and not to attach flamable materials to people's homes) Cant fault that.

Here we go again in the Express

"
Corbyn’s DANGER: Under Labour UK would ‘no longer be nuclear deterrent capable nation’
A FORMER Army chief has warned Britain’s security would be at risk the minute Jeremy Corbyn walked through the door of No 10. Lord Dannatt said the UK’s £20billion nuclear deterrent system would be rendered useless immediately if Labour wins the election.

So what? under the Tories the Russians are running the place anyway, so who is going to threaten us?

Housing secretary Jenrick has followed Sadiq Khan's lead and decided it might not be appropriate for Rydon to bid for public contracts. However, he seems to think it perfectly OK to ask nicely if they will not bid. Whereas the mayor is a touch more forceful.

Just heard the Conservative Business minister claim they have cut the deficit by four fifths!
Not according to the ONS
"In the calendar year 2018, the UK government deficit was £32.3 billion (or 1.5% of GDP), a decrease of £5.3 billion compared with the previous calendar year.17 Jul 2019

No doubt this will pass unchecked as usual

How long before boredom turns off public interest? all parties seem to be lying in a big way, and already those fronting the campaigns seem to be making erratic and contradictory claims.

The Conservatives lauded how well the economy is doing, the Independent carried this

Meanwhile his USA buddy gets described:

The anonymous author of a widely anticipated book on the Trump White House has described the US president as spiraling from crisis to crisis “like a 12-year-old in an air traffic control tower”, according to scathing extracts published by the Washington Post on Thursday.

Just what sort of trade deal could we ever achieve with DT in the WH? If it were good for us, it would be changed. More likely we'd have to kowtow to their demands in every direction.

Who will write the similarly critical book about BJ?

At last, aspects of a BJ comment I can agree with:

“Another turgid, torpid, toxic appalling EU referendum, which is the last thing we need.”

Yes, the 2016 referendum was turgid, torpid, toxic and appalling. Very largely due to BJ and co.

But he even refers to it as "EU referendum" not a UK referendum about the EU. And whilst I'd love to see A50 revoked without a referendum as sense dawns, possibly it is the only way. So only a little bit of agreement.
