Obviously means precisely nothing, but...

In Russia, and many other countries in that directions, they have name days. Everyone with that name celebrates on their name day. 12th December is the name day for Alexander. But, as a public figure, he has renounced Alexander in favour of Boris.

In lists I have found, it appears that there isn't a name day for Boris.
April 1st?

This is hilarious. Johnson is up the creek.

Despite what he says, I don’t think he wants a no deal Brexit. If he works with Farage, he will be forced to go that route, if he doesn’t, BXP will take a fatal chunk of Tory votes. He’s shafted.

Johnson has been heckling from the back row for three years, now he’s on the stage with the microphone his hand. Rabbit in the spotlight. He’s seen what no deal means, all the forecasts and reports, and he’s scared of it.
Like watching Tommy Cooper on a bad day!

You have to wonder how long before it will occur to Boris that the only way out is to offer a referendum?
Otherwise he will "cop the blame"

A second referendum is the obvious way out of this mess. Compared to what we currently face in the coming months, a second referendum would be an easy sell. I think the public would accept it.

The current tactics seem to be two conflicting versions. Tell one group the NHS is up for sale, then tell another it’s definitely not. Tell one group we are going for a no deal Brexit, then tell others we are going for a deal. This pattern of lying is becoming very common. It allows people to choose their own truth and the liar is only considered to be a liar by 50% of the audience. A master stroke of genius.

Making Corbyn an even greater genius.

He's been sitting on the non-committal two sides fence for three years so can't even be accused of lying.

not really.
not many voters want a middle ground (pay the fees and not a member) when the question is brexit.

Yes, but the losses are two ways, and so are the gains.

Brexiter Labour voters can believe that's what he's in favour of, while Remainer Labour voters can believe he wants a Deal or a Referendum, whichever is their preference. The same applies to the don't knows who turn out.

His gamble is whether that is a better tactic than being positive. It's increasingly looking like a better tactic now Johnson has started dithering, because where dithering is concerned, Corbyn is the master.

And he hasn't saddled himself with a DUP or ERG equivalent.

it's more likely that not many believe he has the right solution nor he tells them what he really thinks.

That doesn't matter, the fact is that a very large proportion of Labour voters can never bring themselves to ever vote Tory. Given the two way issue that this is, they'll still vote Labour.

And I think you are making the mistake of thinking that most people really think their way through these issues as we do. Most simply don't think about them sufficiently or at all, as the Brexit vote showed.

There are suggestions Labour brexit voters might have gone with brexit party where they would never go tory. Hence, brexit party having candidates in all seats might affect Labour vote as well as tory. Which would be more affected?

I think the Brexit party is too associated with UKIP and is likely to fail to win support in the end, just as UKIP did.

Confusion as NO ONE turns up for 'huge' pro Brexit demo in Doncaster
A ‘huge’ pro-Brexit demonstration planned for Doncaster this morning has caused confusion after no-one turned up.

In fact the organisers had cancelled it at the last moment
But the square was deserted and the event appears to have been pulled at the eleventh hour with organisers blaming the postponement on a lack of donations, protesters and the forthcoming General Election.

Former Vote Leave campaigners were planning to stage protests in Doncaster, Sunderland, London and Boston at 10am as part of a day of civil disobedience which also includes a mass cancellation of TV licences, lighting of beacons across the country, blockades of fuel depots and motorway go slows.
But organiser Jay Beecher admitted on Twitter that the protest had been called off due to a lack of funding and shortage of protesters.
He wrote: “The events are sadly postponed for many reasons, including a lack of funding (only enough was raised for 3 coaches - 150 people).”
He said that the planned cancellation of TV licences in protest at the BBC’s perceived anti-Brexit bias would still go ahead but it wasn’t clear if the plan to light beacons across the country today was still taking place.
A spokesman had previously said: “The event is being held as Brexit was not delivered on October 31 and will incorporate civil disobedience – a highly effective form of demonstration so far not used in former pro-Brexit marches.”

It's a bit sad really. Previously ordinary working people have been reduced to this by a bunch of liars.
