Again wrong""
... just another weak and pathetic effort to divert blame!!

Honda’s most senior executive in Europe was interviewed on the Today Programme to explain Honda’s decision to close its Swindon plant. Honda could not have been clearer: “This is not a Brexit-related issue for us.”

At a time when poorly-performing companies like Flybmi are only too keen to blame Brexit to cover up for their own business failings, Honda’s decision to explicitly rule out Brexit as a factor is particularly notable. Naturally this has not stopped many Losers from spitefully gloating over the demise of thousands of jobs in their desperate pursuit of an ill-informed ‘told-you-so’ moment…

What Honda did blame were the seismic shifts in the automobile industry in recent years, particularly the sudden move towards electrification, fuelled by the diesel scandal and generally poor demand. Turkey is also facing the closure of its Honda plant – despite being in a customs union with the EU…
Nearly right Tommie
Honda to close UK car plant but maintain Turkey operations
Honda also said it will stop making the current Civic Sedan model in Turkey but will continue business operations in the country.

Oh go on....your debris issue at your French country chateau is of more interest.
Cant you summon your gardener or one of the maids to deal with this?
It can make a horrendous mess out of your tweeds don`t you know.
I can summon lots and lots of people. But they don't come, maybe they want money

But apparently, it’s got nothing to do with Brexit.
I'm sure we are all relieved to hear that.
That list and blaming Brexit for all is plain stupid.

Your posts are like white noise, irritating whilst they last, but a sense of relief and soon forgotten when they stop. Brexit will cost jobs and influence some companies to move out of the UK, but your scatter-gun approach of blaming absolutely every bit of unwelcome news on Brexit is ridiculous.

when it comes to practical things like the daylight saving example that Mr Tomlinson gave, these laws are better made by EU technocrats than our MPs at Westminster, the vast majority of them haven't got the specialist expertise.
We get better laws and the cost saving is very substantial.
Replying to OJs comments, yes it is a lot of documentation, large amounts which have zero relevance to UK or indeed any one specific country. But that is why you are supposed to have a civil service.
I picked up a significant difference between European or statute law and the older common law beloved by the UK.
The difference between them is that the european law identifies what you may do,and the penalties if you do something which is not allowed.
The common law identifies what you may not do,implying that unless it is explicitly excluded,it is allowed. And of course common law then needs to be interpreted by reference to decisions which were made in different times ,for different circumstances...allowing more room for a fudge by a judge

Well, at least you got three words sorta right...lol!

TOKYO – Honda will shutter assembly plants in England and Turkey by 2021 as the automaker pushes toward electrification and confronts changing trends in trade relations.

Honda CEO Takahiro Hachigo announced the move Tuesday at the company's global headquarters in Tokyo.

The production overhaul has nothing to do with Brexit and the decision was timed to the end of the current Civic's lifecycle, Hachigo said. It is part of a wider adjustment of Honda’s global production base to improve efficiency and better tailor product to local markets, he said.

"We have decided to carry out this production realignment in Europe in light of our efforts to optimize production allocation and production capacity globally as well as accelerating electrification," Hachigo said. "We have made this announcement today due to the timing for deciding on a production base for the next Civic. So, this decision has nothing to do with the Brexit."

Honda’s European headquarters will remain in the UK, Honda said.

Honda will also close its Turkish plant, which builds the Civic sedan and produces about 38,000 vehicles a year, but intends to continue sales and marketing operations in the country, Honda said.

EU laws and directories are... You, ve guessed it... advisory.. So whats the point in having them..
Keeps a lot of middle class wealthy white males in work I suppose. And a diverse mixture of cleaners keeping buildings clean, tidy and guarded.

Including explicitly excluding everything! Way back in 1835 the Highway Act made any form of mechanically propelled vehicle illegal, and it's still in force. In practice every type of such vehicle must have a specific legal approval for use. That's why Segways and the like are illegal.

So in practice the latter part is rather like EU law and UK law could be draconian and often was. That's an important reason why I hate Brexit.

Indeed, but see above. We couldn't have e-bikes until an EU style law specifically allowing them was passed in 1983. Up until then they were classed as motorbikes.

It's too complicated to explain to you, so no one will bother, continue in ignorance as usual.

Yes at a certain level they are advice.good impartial well argued advice. Then this advice is given to the individual countries which usually decide to implement them as part of their law. So how many times has the UK declined this impartial advice?. Well according to your letter writing MP ,from Poole ..not often. So the mother of parliaments generally takes this good impartial advice, and up to two years ago had no real complaint

..The EU could mandate that all battery packs adhered to specific dimensions, and then all EU countries could put that into law . Individual companies would grumble ,but would acknowledge the sense.
Obviously, we would pretty much be forced into exactly the same standards even if, legally, we are free to set any standard we want. And we don't get to put our input into the development of any such standards.

Control. Who wants it?

...and some good news..

Shamima Begum, who joined the Islamic State group in Syria aged 15, is to lose her UK citizenship
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47299907

Absolutely appropriate that Begum who went to join Islamic State has had her British citizenship revoked. She is an enemy of the UK, she can stay with her terrorist friends rather than polluting the UK with more violent extremism.

No tommie you need to actually read my posts, I didn't say they were not closing the plant did I?
This is what I posted

Honda also said it will stop making the current Civic Sedan model in Turkey but will continue business operations in the country

Where in that post does it contradict your post?
explain yourself

You as usual jumped to a conclusion that was wrong and thought you had scored a point,
That is what children do
Next time read the post with your brain engaged and leave the sarcastic posts like the one with my avatar calling me a "madman"

Your behaviour is appalling even for someone lacking in intelligence. every post you make demonstrates that.
