Cheddar Man was ironically probably a migrant and lactose intolerant.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheddar_Man

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheddar,_Somerset

The term "Cheddar cheese" is widely used, but has no protected designation of origin within the European Union. However, in 2007 a Protected Designation of Origin, "West Country Farmhouse Cheddar", was created and only Cheddar produced from local milk within Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall and manufactured using traditional methods may use the name. Outside of Europe, the style and quality of cheeses labelled as cheddar may vary greatly, with some processed cheeses being packaged as "cheddar" while bearing little resemblance.

Are you infering that Chesdale isn't cheddar?... ;)

Fully agreed, English cheddar is proper cheese.

The rest I call cheese substitute.
.
I mostly buy Welsh cheddar. Some of it is very nice.

Possibly ironically, a seemingly Welsh cheese, Caerphilly, is mostly made not in Wales. Though Traditional Welsh Caerphilly and Traditional Welsh Caerffili are now protected names. And very nice that too can be.

I will pop round for a small port if that's ok too G unit.
Actually i don't drink but someone obviously doesn't know me all that well and gifted me a bottle of "Jack Daniels old No 7 Tennessee sour mash WHISKEY .

Only 40%? Dear Father would have been unimpressed, but too strong for me.
Will that do at a pinch?

On the back of the bottle is a notice "Best enjoyed responsibly" which I take to mean the best thing to do is get someone else to drink it?

A clansman drinking or having anything but whisky is tantamount to treason...

Mates back in Jamaica drink overproof rum. (its around 80%abv). They order a Q and coke... (quarter bottle of Appletons and a bottle of coke)
I can't drink it anymore... Its bonkers...

If you visit distillery, they, ll give you the rum to drink on visit.. charge you for a coffee.. Lads who work in storage rooms are only allowed to stay in for 40 mins... They get drunk on fumes otherwise.. (seriously)
Fun place Jamaica...

Have a mate from Montserrat. Their pink rum is something else.

Overproof. Viscous pink concoction. Mein Gott. That stuff is proper loopy juice. But in a good way. It just makes you giggle.

Delightful.

Ireland
As I sit here at home, drinking my Bailey's,my first alcoholic drink in months , I am reminded of the close affinity between our two nations. Bailey's is a modern drink, designed by London based marketeers , working on a commission from the Irish distillers, to make a pleasant new drink with distinctly Irish connection, but for an international market. Their brief included ensuring that it used Irish milk products. This they did.

I am also reminded that the actual milk involved transfers accross our NI Border multiple times, along with the alcohol... in the production of this exact product.
I am of course hoping that when I again purchase my Christmas 2019 bottle, it will be as simple and painless a process.

Maybe Brexit will be good for Merlyn Welsh Cream Liqueur? Partner seems to prefer it to Bailey's but it seems pretty similar to me (I don't like either).

Labour MP Kate Osamor lives in a £750,000 council house along with her drug scum son Ishmael. He is a former councillor who resigned after being convicted of drugs offences. She earns £77,379 as an MP while the convicted drug dealing son earns £43,835 from the public purse as she continues to employ the convict as her Chief of Staff. It would be interesting to see the list of applicants for The Chief of Staff job. Labour must support and endorse this behaviour because it is being allowed to continue. Despite a combined income of over £120,000.00 going into the household, Ms Osamor tweeted over Christmas that she is proud to be in a council house. And presumably displacing someone who actually needs a roof over their head?

Great to hear that we have a credible alternative to the Conservative government.

Continuing the Christmas spirit, I’ve just cancelled my RNLI direct debit after learning that they have become involved in people trafficking. I’m saddened and disappointed by the news that they have teamed up with criminal gangs to smuggle illegal immigrants into the U.K.

The senior management also appears to have its fingers in the collection tin and are stealing six figure salaries for what used to be charitable work. There are also several reports of long term unpaid volunteers, some of whom have volunteered for decades being given the push for failure to adhere to the politically correct RNLI official policy.

I think the RNLI is now a redundant & outdated institution who’s function can be carried out by helicopters more effectively and with greater efficiency. It’s time to end all funding, especially now they have turned to assisting criminal activity in order to survive.

Found two

"The two lifeboatmen were sacked in May after a senior female member of the staff found their mugs displaying “jokey” designs in a cupboard.

One of the mugs showed one of the crewman’s head superimposed on a naked woman’s body, a design the RNLI believed represented a “safeguarding breach” because they might be seen by visiting schoolchildren.

"One volunteer was stood down for social media activity which targeted a member of RNLI staff without their knowledge and produced graphic sexual images which went far beyond banter.

"The other volunteer produced a hardcore pornographic image of a fellow crew member on a mug."

and

"A PENSIONER who volunteered for the RNLI has been told he is no longer wanted for “operational duties” as a cleaner because he is 70."

No, I think that and the assistance given to the people trafficking gangs just about covers all the wrongdoing. The activity by the volunteers has been punished, so let’s sit back and wait for the management heads to roll for their part in the trafficking.
