I was given one just like the one in the pic as a birthday present recently and I find it quite useful. It's quicker than opening up my laptop and doing an internet search.

From what you have revealed though, OG, I'm worried now that it might have the capacity to change me into an imbecilic 'Brexit' fan. Is there any evidence to support this revelation?

Should we perhaps survey forum users to see who owns one and then check to see if they have always been stupid or if the condition only emerged and became obvious after acquiring one of these Amazon devices?

I have heard that some people have more than one which might account for the ultra-high level of stupidity evidenced by some in this place.;)

Perhaps they can be ordered with a persona of choice? hands up anyone wanting a personal "Boris" or "Moggie" or for the real Sado Masochists a "Gove"?
And for tommie the ultimate present.. the "Rev Ian Paisley " model with sound at 100 watts per channel.
I shall order the "Spike Milligan version" for personal use

OG, I'm sure you have no need but others might wish to check out the very useful word, 'dissembling'. I found this:

dissemble | dɪˈsɛmb(ə)l | verb [no object] conceal or disguise one's true feelings or beliefs: an honest, sincere person with no need to dissemble. [with object] disguise or conceal (a feeling or intention): she smiled, dissembling her true emotion.

DERIVATIVESdissemblance noun dissembler | dɪˈsɛmblə | noun ORIGIN late Middle English: alteration (suggested by semblance) of obsolete dissimule, via Old French from Latin dissimulare ‘disguise, conceal’.

Apparently, the word does not exist in Trollville!

It's not about being better off in the short term per se. No one with a brain expected us to leave and all of a sudden our cows would be shitting gold. But we did expect some sort of fairness.

I personally would leave on W.T.O terms as it stands today. Its the only way to get them to negotiate a realistic deal with us.
Guarantees were given of better times to secure the leave vote so don't try to kid us with that ,remember the line
"There are no down sides ,just considerable upsides"

Who were you expecting fairness from? the EU have been more than fair it's not there fault that leave voters filed to understand the terms of agreements when we had a hand in drawing them up.

You have been mugged.

WTO rules only eh? what do you understand about that? do spill the beans and prove that will work.
This is your big chance, you have now come out and said there is an advantage to Brexit.
Now prove it. let's see your evidence in support of going the WTO way

Apparently not, only one in ten of the best rated wines under $10 comes from outside the EU:

https://www.wine-searcher.com/topvalue.lml
And the really shite ones come from Langeudoc Roussilon. Seriously.
A few years back, well a lot really. There was a price war on wine centred around Carcassonne. They were giving Languedoc red wine away at motorway toll booths. Nobody could beat that. It really is bad. But its cheap.

Apparently bungalow is an Indian word. It means windowless single floor shed.
Yes I knew, we perverted its meaning just as we did currys.

My sister wanted a window so when going to Pakistan she called in a local builder and showed where she wanted a window installed to see the view.

On return six months later no window was visible outside, but when she entered, there on the wall was a painting of a window framing a beautiful country scene. :D

Not sure but I, m sure I read somewhere that hot curries were brought about by army folk in India... Its sort of an English Indian thing.?? But I, m sure flecc will know...
Yes, the English brought two differences, the super hot curry which was nothing more than a showing off thing, and curries with huge chunks of meat in them. The English curry philosophy is wrong, regarding the curry as the main element and the rice as an incidental. To an Indian the rice is the meal and the curry sauce is the flavouring to make it more interesting.

Our Visas are only 60 days and it is problematic. The e visa system is far from problem free
I think my sister and partner might have been entitled to six month visas since they had a bungalow there. At least, it was the Indian idea of a bungalow, we'd call it a windowless shed. It was set well back in the countryside from the shore so was more living Indian style than tourist, including walking a mile to a village every morning to fetch the day's water.

If you had a competition 40 years ago (yes I have lived in Europe that long!) between bad wines from that region vs some regions on Spain and Italy it would be decided on a coin toss, tasting sessions would probably have killed the wine tasters! At that time there was a saying "Did you know that in Italy they even make wine from grapes?".

And that cheap cr@p from the south east was better than the NZ reds I had tasted up until then! Did I mention Yugoslavia? Yep that was still a place back then and boy could they compete in the race to the bottom of the barrel.

Lucky us, the children of those people have taken over, gone organic and produce some rather nice wine these days. In all three countries I mentioned. Their parents sending them to school may have helped I think.
