Well Dan what have you got to say now?
Your Big Time Charlies (the nancy boy Leo and his sidekick) beginning to look rather foolish now,
that`s what you get for bending over to the EU mafia..

No Deal incoming...

"Irish ministers were being urged not to gloat about their big backstop win last night. Now it looks like the whole thing is coming undone. Some in other EU member states have been privately thinking, 'did Dublin push this too far?"
Tell me tommie why are you gloating when Northern Ireland’s electorate voted to remain in the EU with a considerable margin in the referendum: 55.8% versus 44.2%.?

Don't you believe in the mythical will of the people?

More Modest Proposals - Maybe we could 'find' some small print in the referendum where it says anyone voting Leave has to literally do that - and a place is found for them all say a mini green and sceptred isle like the Isle of Wight. Banky and Danny Boyle could be hired to theme it like Trumpton / Ealing Comedy with WW2 ration books to enhance their unity of Little Britain vs Europe/The World golden era period similar to how they recreate environments for happlily muddled senile folk. These proud island nation could make their way in the World with tourism showcasing their utopian nostalagia. JRM could be their unelected dictator (occasionally dressing up as Britannia on Empire Day) with ERG as his cabinet along with responsibility for working the vegetable patch., Farage could be their League of Nations rep and sell tickets for the fairground rides. Aaron Banks could be their Chancellor of the Escher with his experience of crafting ambiguous paradoxical offshore finances...

Today my friends is historic, it's the first time 66 million people have become collateral damage in peacetime by its own Government

To misquote Aneurin Bevan

In a country evenly divided between leave and remain
Only a government cursed with disorganisational genius could
Unite them against it

The Vodka will flow in the Kremlin tonight!

I would be interested from where you got that unattributed quote. A British newspaper perhaps?.
The deal on offer is the second best available to the UK, the best obviously is to call the whole shambles off. Irish ministers are NOT gloating, the situation is much to fraught for that. I can agree with you that a "no deal " scenario is probable. UK has run out of time.

WILL SHE SURVIVE?
Odds plunge on Theresa May to be gone before the end of the day – with Boris 5/1 to replace her

I can't think of a more appropriate fate....
Was it Shakespeare that observed

The best way to punish a man that steals your wife
Is to let him keep her?

I see the rats are leaving the rotting hulk....what will go first Theresa May or Brexit? She will now face a leadership challenge which now she will surely lose. She managed to come up with a deal that satisfied neither Leaver nor Remainer,I suppose we should have expected that considering it was clearly drafted by the EU.
A GE solves nothing, everyone agrees that NO DEAL would be a disaster,so where do we go from here???
What a mess,Cameron and the Tory Brexiters should be shot for causing this disaster.
KudosDave

I'd say it's yours if you want it, 'Wicky'!

Do I get redundancy pay & pension for my ½ day in office?!?

Apparently I was the only person who applied....

"Evening Standard is reporting that Michael Gove has turned down an offer to be the new Brexit secretary."

"Pipp Crerar: Hearing rumours that DExEU could be disbanded. No more definite than that. It does kind of make sense, Dept already downgraded when Raab took over and it's job is nearly done."

Fascinating to see the manoeuvring, shifting of moral principles and dereliction of duty by MPs. I would expect nothing other than them to jump on this opportunity to further their own interests and ambitions. Trouble is they don’t go away once they’ve resigned, they keep on reappearing from around the U bend like an un-flushable turd.

A Poem about the Conservative situation

Big Fleas have little Fleas upon their back to bite 'em
And little fleas have smaller fleas
Let's watch the Barstards bite 'em!

With appropriate apologies.
Best Fun for a while today (and a record number of posts too!)

Yes - and no.

Yes, a no confidence vote looks likely, but the result of that vote is far from certain.

All May needs is a simple majority of the parliamentary party to, er, remain in office.

There may be 50-odd MPs writing no confidence letters but that still leaves more than 250 MPs who could back May.

At one point there were 668 staff, bit over 350 left.so it's anybody's guess how many will lose their jobs.

Shades of the Japanese company that specialised in miniaturising portable radios.
Due to advances in miniaturisation, and mass production,Yakashaki Electronics are moving into smaller premises.

I must confess that I would be delighted if Moggy fails to pull this off!

I don't think she'll be ousted. She'll probably win a vote of confidence simply because there's no-one else on hand to replace her.

Two years ago Boris Johnson would have been brought in, but I doubt the party would accept him at the moment. Quite apart from his gaffes, he's committed himself to the hardest of Brexits which would mean crashing out. I doubt parliament has the guts to do that, the prospect would probably be too scary for most MPs.
