More Modest Proposals - Maybe we could 'find' some small print in the referendum where it says anyone voting Leave has to literally do that - and a place is found for them all say a mini green and sceptred isle like the Isle of Wight. Banky and Danny Boyle could be hired to theme it like Trumpton / Ealing Comedy with WW2 ration books to enhance their unity of Little Britain vs Europe/The World golden era period similar to how they recreate environments for happlily muddled senile folk. These proud island nation could make their way in the World with tourism showcasing their utopian nostalagia. JRM could be their unelected dictator (occasionally dressing up as Britannia on Empire Day) with ERG as his cabinet along with responsibility for working the vegetable patch., Farage could be their League of Nations rep and sell tickets for the fairground rides. Aaron Banks could be their Chancellor of the Escher with his experience of crafting ambiguous paradoxical offshore finances...

I would be interested from where you got that unattributed quote. A British newspaper perhaps?.
The deal on offer is the second best available to the UK, the best obviously is to call the whole shambles off. Irish ministers are NOT gloating, the situation is much to fraught for that. I can agree with you that a "no deal " scenario is probable. UK has run out of time.

I see the rats are leaving the rotting hulk....what will go first Theresa May or Brexit? She will now face a leadership challenge which now she will surely lose. She managed to come up with a deal that satisfied neither Leaver nor Remainer,I suppose we should have expected that considering it was clearly drafted by the EU.

All May needs is a simple majority of the parliamentary party to, er, remain in office.
There may be 50-odd MPs writing no confidence letters but that still leaves more than 250 MPs who could back May.
At one point there were 668 staff, bit over 350 left.so it's anybody's guess how many will lose their jobs.

I don't think she'll be ousted. She'll probably win a vote of confidence simply because there's no-one else on hand to replace her.
Two years ago Boris Johnson would have been brought in, but I doubt the party would accept him at the moment. Quite apart from his gaffes, he's committed himself to the hardest of Brexits which would mean crashing out. I doubt parliament has the guts to do that, the prospect would probably be too scary for most MPs.
