I am sure that all bikes,both e-bike and vanilla, post Brexit will have a 55% tariff UK to EU,that will really hurt the likes of Brompton. I am sure the MD of Brompton would lose sleep over such tariffs.
somebody has to make a complaint against Brompton first.
There is also the need for proofs that the action of the dumpers hurt local producers...

it seems today that the hard brexiteers have struck back. TM said that if there is no deal, there won't be any transition.
This may seem logical but TM plays a very dangerous game here.
this news increases significantly the risk of no deal brexit.

Ah, sorry I missed that Dave. Did you do any further digging? I'm struggling to find anyone who knows!
I think Woosh is correct,there is a WTO tariff chart if you trawl the net,it's about the same numbers we use from China. It's the anti-dumping duty that's the killer,48% plus 6% duty,hence my 55% approximation.
If we crash out,the EU will put a border down the English Channel,they will put all the same anti-dumping duties on UK to EU that is currently on China to EU(currently including the UK),also between the north and south Ireland...they will have no choice otherwise their protection walls will be breached by the UK.
Whether May responds and puts those same duty between the EU and UK,I don't know,this is what is important to your KTM imports....I think that May will not because she says she is in favour of world free trade.
There could be good business smuggling e-bikes back into the EU,especially if they are 'secondhand' having attracted the UK grant before export.

Woosh....you really are incredibly naive at times....just try to get a product out of the EU anti-dumping net. The EU put the duties on everything and then you have to argue your way out....small businesses like Brompton,Woosh,Kudos don't have legal power to fight the EU.
I know of one bike supplier that fought and won against the EU,it took over 5 years,massive effort and only got a partial reduction.

Why does it have to be someone who is in favour of no deal to be interested in WTO duty rates? I am interested because it is my business, WTO model is a possibility.
I choose not to panic.
If I import cheeses from France, then I would think about making cheeses here.

Surely, the point is WTO makes it standard, so if its a 25% tariff one way, it'll have to be the same the other? I've been looking into this all day and I can't find the answer.
The way I read it is that WTO rules apply unless you have completed a trade deal with a country,then you can select tariffs that suit both countries in the deal,not sure if it has to be the same in both directions.
Will look a bit further.

No that's a fact.
Sorry but it is only a "Fact" in your opinion, which let's face it isn't actually based on facts, but on taking huge risks without knowing the likely consequences.
You are a Gambler that's all.

What "Facts" guided your judgement in voting for Brexit?
There aren't any that prove it was a good idea even now, are there?

All the available information indicates with a very high probability that it will prove disastrous , and in ways not even obvious to those in favour of it, but clear enough to those who care to see.

We gave you many facts, but your opinions differ from reality, and are inconsistent too.
You simply discounted them.

Confucius him say
"If you can keep your head when all around are losing theirs,
Then you clearly have no idea of the seriousness of the situation."
If you can keep your head when all about you;
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too.
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster,
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make a heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And—which is more—you'll be a Man, my son!

My wife usually beats me with this nugget of wisdom when she wins an argument.

Colin,KTM...this is the best info I have found.
The U.K.,post Brexit,can choose what tariffs it wants to apply on imports.
However,we don't have a free hand,whatever tariffs we choose,we would have to apply the same rates to all WTO members,except where it has a trade agreement or helping developing countries.
There are bound ranges within WTO which as a member we have to keep within.
The average applied tariff on bicycles (8714) are as follows...
EU....15%
China.....25%
India.....45%
USA.....8%
Taiwan....11%
Some big numbers there,no way would the Chinese want the UK to put 25% tariff on China to UK bikes.
Hope that helps but it doesn't really answer your question,I think it's really Mays decision.

If the UK put a very low tariff on bikes coming here from China instead of the existing 55% total, Dahon and Tern would be so cheap Brompton could take a knock. There's only so much price difference a fold advantage can take before sales slump. Add on a big China style tariff into the EU from the UK which would be inevitable and Brompton could be hit very badly indeed.
