Bosch charger repair

Anyone know if it's possible to repair a faulty Bosch battery charger?

Over the last 6 months I had to wiggle the cable around to get a connection and now it's stopped working altogether.

The cable that I believe is faulty is not the one that goes into the plug.

It's the end that goes into the battery itself. There appears no obvious way to open up the cable.

no real way to fix it as it is totally sealed so only option is a new cable.

bosch only sell the cable as a kit for the dual batts and at 90 quid you might as well buy a new charger.

i have never found that connector for sale via a 3rd party.

I am unable to view the pictures, but talking generally, and assuming you are in a position to do the work, or have someone do it for you, is to identify the components, buy them and get both the plug and the socket replaced.
Its not a big deal for someone who has some DIY knowledge in that area, so don't worry.
Do buy high quality, sturdy components, that will last.
Possibly buy two sets and store one for the future.
Try not to put any strain on the cable and plug in the future.
The problem may even be where the cable gets flexed most....and the plug/socket is OK, but the cable is broken internally. A small amount of work with a voltmeter should be able to identify if its that!!
regards
Andy
PS. You may need to change the style to one easily available, also very easy.

Cheers. Yeah I carried the charger in my bag a few times, so that probably bent the wires out of place.

Thanks. I already bought a new charger as I can't be without one. But it'd be handy to keep a spare charger at work.

volt meters dont work on bosch batts and chargers they only turn on when connected and talking to each other.

bit of a bodge but you could use this.

A further reason for the "man on the street" to not purchase anything from Bosch perhaps?

Mainly the reason I use hub of any brand and KT electronics all easy to repair or fault find in the main. I had two or three wire faults which I have rectified within hours at home and the odd hub whine which has been down to bearings, again an easy repair within a day or two once parts received.

You are 100% correct.
Anyone with an Apple product has been taken in by the smooth advertising and the hype, just as Bosch has done with e-bikes.
I have never owned a single Apple product. I never ever will either, as I am not so naive to get taken in!
I admire Apple for one thing, really good and effective advertising.

PS. My smart phone is from LG, its one I can change the battery (an important feature I believe), if I wish to, in seconds.
With Apple phones, they need to be sent away!!!
Also, I am not plagued by LG, when the phone is a few years old, with software that slows the smart phone down, and empties the battery, so that the owner is apparently "forced" to buy a new one.
Apple are a con firm, but those conned, have not yet understood that! Some never will catch on....
See here from 2017:-
Apple got caught out! They are still doing such dirty deed, but in a less transparent manner!
See here this year:-
The French watchdog said iPhone owners "were not informed that installing iOS updates (10.2.1 and 11.2) could slow down their devices".
As part of the agreement, Apple must display a notice on its French-language website for a month.
It says Apple "committed the crime of deceptive commercial practice by omission" and had agreed to pay the fine.

they also restrict the sale of component level parts made for there stuff.

like a 5 buck charging chip for a laptop would now mean a hole logic board replacement and cost 80% of the items worth to fix it.

not even a apple store can replace the chip the just replace the hole board at you expense and they will also delete all of your data for free even if it has a removable nvme drive.

the only way atm to get those charging chips is to remove them from new batts and once you do that the new batt is useless.

good enit ;)

what are you complaining about? replacing the board is easier than replacing a chip and boost your income. Win win for both Apple and yourself :)

you are right and there of plenty of places to get the board fixed over there but!

if a 3rd party fixes any apple product even with original parts it will be classed as counterfeit and be seized buy customs.

so say you have a apple phone and you brake the glass this is a easy fix in china if you just send them the lcd to get refurbished with new glass.

apple will have it seized as counterfeit even tho the original lcd was made buy apple.

windows 10 usb stick detected rtb user error.
