This topic is about interesting or unusual pedelecs (legal) that people may have spotted in the wild.
This year my town, which has a season population of over 100,000 at peak times, has been a great place for pedelec spotting:
My first rare bike spotting was the Tern folder with Bafang BBS01. Very nice little bike, I wouldn't mind one myself http://www.ternbicycles.com/bikes/472/elink You could DIY from one of the un-motorized Tern folders which would most probably work out cheaper.
My second was the Smart. The first time I have seen one on the road http://int.smart.com/en/en/index/smart-electric-bike.html Very attractive looking bike with unmistakable build quality and components (65 € Ergon pedals...). I went over for a chat and well... I confirmed that this particular bike does seem to attract buyers with slightly flawed social skills... If you follow my drift, yes HE has a French cousin
Third is the mystery bike that was spotted being pushed by a lady up the pedestrian street in front of my flat. I didn't retain the type or manufacturer (working nights isn't good for short term memory) painted on the "frame". 20" wheel non folder completely enclosed motor and battery. Kind of looked like a super lightweight scooter with low step through. It looked too well built/expensive to be Chinese (Oh naughty boy!) and the gentleman was pushing a Kalkhoff.
