Hi

There is a customers bike on the link below 3,000 watts 40 MPH on the flat NO pedalling just motor hills climbs like a mountain goat 30 MPH no pedalling 60 volt 15AH backpack battery That is 1,000 Watt hours weight 6 kilos

The Bike cost £2000 Giant full suspension + conversion £2500

Testimonials about Xipi

Our Business is going towards more customers buying there own bike on line and having it sent direct to us for conversion some are bought on the Cycle to work scam ( yes i spelt it right )

If you look at Chain reactions there are up to 50% off like the link below

Commencal Meta AM 29er Summer 2012 | Chain Reaction Cycles

If we fitted our baby motor weight with controller 4.5 kilos 48 volt backpack battery 750 watt Hours 4.5 kilos

22 MPH NO pedalling the motor runs at 500 watts nominal peak 1,000 it is geared with freewheel so NO drag rides like a standard Bike

Hi read any off our adds we Very carefully explain the LAW The bike in the add above is available with a 45 KPH Converter words from our T and C

The max power to be legally classed as a pedal cycle is 250 watts, and a maximum speed of 15 MPH. Our Motor are marked 48 volt 250 Watts representing the nominal power of the motors. All our kit are electronically locked 15mph & key switchable at user discretion and should only switched to Hi-power in an permitted environment. Turbo boost - Not for use on the public highway. Not road legal 37+ Mph up to 3500watt peak power(model dependent). All our kit are electronically locked 15mph & 250 watts, key switchable at user discretion and should only switched switched to Hi-power in an permitted environment.

We do not condone or encourage the braking of any laws switching your conversion to hi power in a non approved environment will result in the user breaking the law.

what is it? pick on frank day? :)

I like the xipi bikes approach, they are different and imho aimed at a different buyer than most ebikes, and the marketing and presentation differs accordingly. I also think anyone who buys one understands the pro's and con's (and legalities) of off road power levels.

to get the thread back on track, I also like the haibikes a great deal :) but still havent found a crank drive bike that works with my foot - got any hardtails on offer Martin? and when is the test day happening? and if not soon, got any hardtails for test rides yet?

Hi Ghoul,

Nice to hear from you. I know you like what you saw on the Haibike front on you last visited.
Oh did my suggestion for the multi release cleats work for your foot?

Also the Haibike demo day we are planning to set a date soon, the new 2014 models should be with us next week so we can go from there.

As for hard tails. I have just had a dig around upstairs, and I have a couple of ex-demo hard tails models (practically new). If you give me a buzz I may be able to sort something out for you?

01420 544999 You know where I am.

Hi Bilabonic

First I need to apologise to my fellow dealer Martin Interrupting his Thread

We will always support our kits with new batteries when the old ones Expire but before that we will look at the old battery and see if it can be fixed with a few new cells or a new BMS We Build and service ONLY our own Kits including Batteries we also design all our new kits to be backward compatible our workshop is fully equipped with a Digital load tester and battery charging equipment

Example you bought a 48 volt 15 AH kit 1 year ago probably in a rear rack mount we now offer to upgrade to the new Kube with new controller with LCD display

OR you have a 2,000 48 volt 15AH watt Kube Kit Our new 3,000 watt 60 volt kit comes out in 3 months we can update your battery with extra cells and new charger and BMS and larger case on the Kube

The other service we offer to customers who call us and buy a new bike because the battery on there old bike has failed is to take the battery apart and see if it can be got working with a few second hand cells or a new bms enough to make the bike sellable as a working bike DONT always work BUT this service is FREE

In which case why have you posted a link to a video of some one using one of your bikes in what is obviously not 250w mode on the road ?. If that not condoning and encouraging people to use in "off road " mode ?

Hiding behind a bit of legal speak and then actively showing what can be done illegally is not a get out clause.

Incidently as far as im aware the current regulations dont allow for a "off road" mode and any e-bike with such a switch is not allowed/legal.

Two and a half grand for an e-bike? And apparently four and a half grand for some of the more "exotic" models. Good luck. I know someone who recently bought a ford focus estate with less than 40k on the clock, a years warranty, and all in fantastic condition. It has a largish engine, four wheels, five seats, a large boot, can do 85 mph effortlessly, has a radio, electric windows, air conditioning, and is good for another 80,000 miles at least. It's quite economical to run too. And it cost quite a bit less less than this new "bargain" of an e-bike.

No wonder the e-bike market in the UK is dismal and no wonder why hardly anyone is buying them. Honestly, it staggers me what people are prepared to pay. I don't always blame the retailers as I'm aware their margins are often cut to the bone by distributors, importers and manufacturers. But....really!

If the used car is such a bargain, why it that we cannot move about freely due to the quantity of them.
Forced to breathe in all the crap that comes out the back of them.

Please don't compare a modern, well engineered cycle to a tin box s**t heap designed to clog up the roads and do absolutely nothing positive towards the fitness of its users.

I'll take the bike any day.

My missus insists on using her tin s**theap to get the weekly shopping - Seems most selfish to me:

I put panniers on her bike too...

Afterall, it's only 7 miles & 1,000 feet of climb to get the 4 or 5 bags home...

^^ If you have the car then why not, I hardly ever use my car these days since getting my new e-bike, but I wouldn't want to be car-less.

£2500 really isnt that expensive, a pedal powered version of that bike would be £1800, it's made for serious off-road riding. Even for the road, you can pay WAY more than that for bikes:

BMC Teammachine SLR01 Dura Ace Di2 2014 Road Bike | Evans Cycles

Used cars arent a good comparison, because they come with very high running costs. Your ford focus:

£500 insurance
£150 tax
£50 MOT
£1000 per year in fuel

£1700 to run that car for a year, assuming you have no breakdowns. To run the ebike, less than £10 a year?
