The technology looks good and it's very neatly put together, but I have to admit when I look at the side-on view of the bike at the geometry..... my efforts to like what I see are proving futile.... it's all a matter of taste though.

To me it's all rather "sterile" in the way the monorail that shunts you between terminals at Gatwick Airport is.. Maybe would look right riding around a Convention complex but have to admit I'm not a fan of white (or red) frames, especially in the countryside.... ? A nice shade of anthracite grey would be far nicer for this bike imho.

One man's meat as they say ... but it's good to see things progressing.

To say best looking is so personal...one man's sweet is another man's poison....whilst I respect the engineering qualities of the Bosch powered bikes I do think the motor underslung under the bottom bracket unattractive-Haibike have overcome this by turning the motor upside into the frame triangle,a much more attractive solution and better ground clearance, the Haibike guy said they had a patent in that position-diificult to know how you can achieve a patent using another manufacturer's product-note I think apostrophies in correct usage,I'll learn yer!!!!

Not sure about the patent as I am sure there are other Bosch powered bikes which have some bikes which take the same approach.

Completely agree, when the first models were announced I referred to the underslung appearance in uncomplimentary terms, comparing it to a part of the male anatomy. As Electrifying Cycles say, there are a number of others using the inverted more practical and attractive layout.

To be honest Im more drooling over the technology than the looks. To me this is the start of the development of bikes designed from the ground up as a fully integrated ebike rather than a bike with e bits bolted on.

Inverted you gain around 30mm clearance. Clearance is then limited to frame and chain wheel.

Does look better but what happens to the frame if you ground out on a rock?

Thanks David,

The new Nicholi bike is simply a road version of the Grace MX also designed by Nicholi, we hope to have this and the full suspension versions on the market in 2014.

And of course there is the Easy!

I meant Nicolai, Kalle Nicolai, if I could spell I would be dangerous!

Agree - nice looking - but a hefty beast.
Yep bit under 40 kilos but allowing for size of motor (1200 watts) will need a biggish battery to match. also kitted out with heavy duty forks etc as meant to be a down hiller so would not be that light anyway.

Almost reaching the point of why even have pedals :)

Sorry to be so blatantly pushing the 48V Grace Easy at the moment, but I really think it's a good looking, understated, city bike. I am lucky enough to be getting a demo bike delivered to me next week, the Red Dot Design award winner 2012.
