No laughing here, the Raleigh Motus is a great bike.
Well it is true I have had Raleigh in various forms since 1959 but I would be the first to admit that they wouldn't be flavour of the month these days.
However with an auto engineering background I have had a look and I can see nothing at all wrong with this Motus, regarding welding or fixtures / fittings.
As you say it is a great bike and more importantly it is available, but we had to act presto pronto and secured a cancellation which was prepped and ready. More to come apparently.
Samcycles will know the dealer and he has been going a long time.:)

I do indeed know the dealer and I noticed they had a new delivery of bikes in.
I would happily have bought a Raleigh if I could have got the spec I wanted.
I've been riding a Raleigh Pioneer 21 sp for the last 22 years and had even thought about fitting a hub kit but decided it had given sterling service and deserves a gentle retirement. Just gets used to pop to the local shop now.

My friend ordered a Cube ebike one week this month and picked it up at the end of the next. Sounds dodgy to me, your lot.

Probably a different model, or different arrangement with wholesalers. The OP's bike shop probably isn't dodgy, just somewhat incompetent and very bad at communication (both with Cube and with the customer).

We've had Raleighs in the past (including stolen 21sp Pioneer) and got a Motus now. But the brand name is almost completely irrelevant now.

Maybe the shops been a bit slow to pay their suppliers in the past!

The payment is via the CTWS , voucher was issued because the bike shop confirmed the build and delivery date , it was only when the bike was 3 weeks late that the shop came up with The story of Cube cancelling production of my bike.
What i seek to do is to get a timeline of the decision making / correspondence etc and ascertain why ( if this whole charade is true ) the shop failed to know and keep me informed of any changes to my order.
When the bike was ordered i could of got the bike from numerous other outlets ( who had the bike in stock ) but i chose to go local ( and small ) for various reasons ,all of which seem spurious now .
Possibly they are telling the truth about the model being discontinued?
Can I suggest you research to see if that in facts true to start with?
