Hi Guy just done a conversion using BBS02B and a SW102T
The display readout for power only ever goes up to 250w
I did buy from AliExpress uk and it was 750w and does have this stamped on the motor
Any insight or help to why this combo is doing this.
Thanks
Jordan

Hi Peter it has a set 5 levels on this display.
the config tool shows 9 so don’t fully understand that side. First e-bike conversion for me
but on every assist level I see it peak at 250 but never goes above.

Is it increasing power as you increase the levels (does it feel a lot more powerful on level 5 than 0/1) ?
Have you programmed the percentage power for each level ?

Yes it definitely increase can on level 5 can get a solid 20mph.
the percentage on the web config tool did show 100% power for the higher levels.
I’m just finding strange with the readout not going above 250. It does not even go to 251 is a dead stop at 250w

Is it 250 exactly ? That is very strange

If there isn't a speed limit set, either against the level or overall, then I would expect a 48v nominal (54.4v for a full battery) * 24 amps to go a lot faster than 20 mph

Could you possibly upload the config file for us to look at? Or screenshots or photos of the configurator sections.

Usually "Keep current" by default is 20% on many Bafang BBSXXX motor controllers, 48V X ((24/100) X 20) = 230.4W

There is on my display something that says p-set it seems like I need a code. I’m wondering if it’s the display doing this.

This is the config. Thanks J
Your "Keep Current" is only 80% = 921W, which might explain your lower top speed than @Peter.Bridge expected.

There are different mappings from 9 levels to 5, you'll have to determine which mapping works with your display:

Isn't "p-set" to set a password for starting up the ebike system? Default according to the SW102 manual is "0000". I can't find a manual for the SW102 T.

Your display being limited to display only up to 250W is weird. Faulty or programmed for some other system? If Wattage display is vital, return it and buy from elsewhere? If everything else works fine, keep as is?

There is a password bit and a p set bit. From the speeds I’m getting I’d say it’s not 750w.
I changed 5 to 100 and 100 to try and get it to show more power. Could I’d be because I’m uk BAFANG putting an uk firmware on it. See photo of me on the throttle full only 250 on display.
It’s very strange this. May try and get a watt meter to measure see what’s happening. Thanks J

According to that pedelecs link I found it said level 5 on the display is mapped to level 4 on the config - which is set to 45 % of maximum on your config - it then decays to 80% of that value

It's probably been infiltrated by the 'keep ebikes legal' campaign group.

One thing you haven't mentioned is your cadence and gear use. If you are managing such high speed already, its unlikely to be the cause that the motor is not turning fast enough.

Seems a bit half-arsed if "Keep ebikes legal" ilfiltrators have got to Bafan via Vulcan mind meld - if custom display firmware has been baked in to conform to UK laws, why not limit top speed to 25kph, whenever speed limit is designated to the display? Perhaps the mind meld was interrupted by a sudden urge to seduce a comely female green alien with big irresistible purple boobs or something.
