Interesting. Looks like a bike for kids to go to and from school. Scooter de luxe.
Unfortunately it is illegal for kids younger than 14 to ride e-bikes in UK.

Yes, in that review there was someone 6'2" riding it, he managed ok but I'm not sure how stable it would be with 14" wheels

I've tried some of those spotwelders. They're shite because you have no control over the quality of the welds. If you press too hard, you get no weld and if you don't press hard enough, it blows holes in the strips. I came to the conclusion that the Sunto type are much better

The rear dropouts look 10mm for a hub motor but the frame's too small for a regular battery and the BB has external bearings. Can the BB be changed to suit a mid-motor? Any other difficulties?

20% off all ebikes at Planet X.

The dual battery cargo bike looks even more interesting with the discount and the bundled passenger seat, rails etc. With the discount and cycle to work scheme....

Good value with the discount, one weak point is brakes. Competitors like Momentum PakYak and Tern GSD have more powerful 4 piston calipers, and special wider calipers for thicker pads for cargo use up to 200kg. MT500 are a long way behind .

Without the discount PakYak is much the same price, with Yamaha motor.

Ananda motor and display with Ananda CAN protocols. Who's going to fix it when it goes wrong?

Rear C of G is too high to be considered a stable cargo bike , ok with larger rear panniers.
I still think Mike Burrows 8 freight is the best design low down C of G , would be immense if one could add a tow hitch.
Someone had a BBS01 converted so one expects a tsdz would fit as well.

I priced up the pakyak with additional battery, seat, grab bars and it came in at £4900 so way more than even the standard non discount planetx bike and double considering the discount

If the discount includes the two batteries it does sound pretty good. Brake upgrade to what the Momentum or Tern use would be around £200.

Have you got his/her phone number?
He doesn't like me giving out his number to any randoms or non Ananda customers (Bafang techies need not apply). Take a picture of yourself pointing to your Ananda motor and include a copy of the latest Beano in the pic and I'll see what I can do
