this kit comes in two versions, with or without LCD.
If your battery does not have an on/off switch, you need to order with LCD to turn the kit on/off.
The LCD is the same make and model as on your Rio but 48V version.

That's interesting, where did you read about these new kits coming to Woosh? I've just been on their site and I don't see anything listed.

If I decide to go ahead with Plan A then I need to buy:

1. New 48 volt battery
2. 22a KT controller with Julet connecters
3. KT LCD3

and do I also need

4. a new thumb or twist throttle?
5. new cadence sensor
6. new brake sensors

Will everything else I have on the bike be compatible with the new controller?
Your 4-1 trunk cable should all be Julet, you would need to double check the controller to trunk cable connection is the same and has the same number of pin outs. AFAIK all should fit together, do your home work first or post pics of your trunk cable to controller Julet for clarification.

That almost feels too easy, what am I forgetting?

Nothing no pas sensor needed or brake cut outs as all is TS.
The set up should be neat/ tidy plug an play with no controller to conceal.

you have to ask the manufacturers. It's possible to have the on/off function integrated to the test button on the battery.
It's a simple option for the manufacturer when you order.

Damian, the throttle is not available on that kit.
If you want to retain the existing facilities, you can use something like the KT controller and LCD.

No problem, I think we were getting our wires crossed there (pun intended) in post 46 in response to my "will my thumb throttle still work question" you said:

"No, it's a torque sensor.
There is no wire if you have an on/off switch on the battery."

It was the "if" that threw me, I thought you were saying that if the battery doesn't have an On/Off switch then I would need an LCD which would also give the option to have a throttle!

So back to the KT controller then, can anyone smarter than me confirm that that these are the parts I need:

The LCD comes with a long plug but looking at the diagram it looks as though it has a Julet connecter on the end of a short lead similar to my current LCD.

you need a 6-FET 48V controller with normal JST connectors - the one you selected is too big to go inside the controller box.
That way, you can re-use the existing pedal sensor, throttle, brake sensors on the hydraulic brakes and cabling.

Hi - I am replacing a large 500w heavy rear motor with the BAFANG SWX02 cassette version. "RM G020.250.DC 09" "007F2T7230672" It is a road bike (conversion of a touring bike) and I only need 250w/350W. My battery is 17ah 36V, controller 11W, and the LCD is
KT LCD 1 eBike Special Meter. I just put the new motor on and it works but it is sensing the wrong speed which appears far too high. The motor now restricts at far to low "real" speed. I believe I need to reprogram the P settings. But I dont know what to use.
P1 is motor characteristic parameter setting mode. presently P1 = 46
P2 Wheel Speed Pulse Signal Setting Mode P2 is set to 0
P3 Power Assist Control Mode P3 is set to 1
P4 Handlebar Startup Mode P4 is set to 0
P5 Power Monitoring Mode P5 is set to 12
My LCD shows a P6 parameter of 45 however the KT LCD1 manual I have does not indicate there should be one.

I suspect I should alter maybe P1 or P2 but not sure what to set? Can anyone help?

P1 84 should cut out at about 15.7mph with 25km/h set in the speed setting, if so P1 calibration is about spot on and you can then set speed higher if you like knowing it is pretty accurate.
P2 1 or if it doesn't read free wheeling P2 6.

P6 is a special mode for the cylotricity D/D hub only, it changes the 250w to 500w.

I'm pretty sure that the SWX02 has 6 magnets for the speed sensor, so P2 should be set to 6. That's your problem with the speed reading.

Thanks people! Perfect P1=20pole x 5 = 100; P2=6 and the P6 I assume to be 99=500w 46=250w so set to 65 to approximate 350w. The new motor allows me to keep the 10speed shimano cassette. I also have retained the deore trecking crank.

It is a custom Cyclotricity Mod to the controller they supply for a 250/500 motor controller. P6=46 gives 250 legal wattage P6=99 gives the full 500 watt.
