Absolutely right Footie. No bike generalisation can be true for everyone, except for saying a bike should be proportioned for the bike to ergonomically right for the rider.
There are general national differences too, in height, limb lengths, weight etc., so mass production will never suit all equally, meaning a lot of compromise.
