Hi folks,

Does anyone have a motorhome which they carry electric bikes with ?

If so, please can you get in touch for an article we are writing.

Thanks

We've carried two ebikes on different campers using more than one kind of bike rack.

Thanks for the replies folks. We’re interested in how you carry your e-bikes (bike racks, trailer racks? OldPedaller we'll be interested to hear the comparisons you can offer), whether you’ve had any problems (weight, other?). Also any stories on where you’ve travelled to and how you’ve used your e-bikes on your trips would be great as well please.. so we’ll be in touch with those that have replied so far and any more that do so after this shortly..thanks all
:D

I also carry ebikes in the back of my VW T5 camper. The biggest issue is the weight of 3 of them, even with the battery's off there's nothing on the market I can find to be 100% certified safe.

Yes, I carry two e bikes on a towball mounted carrier. I take the batteries off and carry these inside, partly for security as they're £400+ each! but mainly for weight issues - like to keep the load on towball as low as possible.
Considered a small trailer but dropped that idea - makes reversing a faff.

I used to "hang" bikes off the back of my vw t2 on a rack but now carry them internally as there's plenty of room.

With loads of experience carrying a variety of e-bikes on and in motor caravans, EddieO was one of our most prominent contributors on this subject Russ! ;):p
He's still at it - new bike on the way (again :)) to go with new motorhome (also again :):)).

Yes. 2 Haibikes on the back of a Possl Roadcruiser (Fiat Ducato panel van conversion). Bikes carried on a Busbiker carrier which is fixed to the chassis and is much stronger than the things that dangle off the back doors, as well as being easier to use :)

Yes, he's got a really nice setup now. When I drew Eddie's attention to this thread he did respond.

I couldn't quote him though! ;)
