Yes 2 bikes kalkoff agattu and ezeetorq2 on back of autotrail apache 600 take off batteries, seats etc. weighs just over 40 kg plus quite a high lift. We are considering a tow bar rack but they are expensive.
We go off touring about 25 mile ish trips on bikes brilliant combination lots of like minded silver tops on on motorhome rallies.

At the somewhat smaller end of the scale.... I have a folder in a Romahome Hylo (ie the van based on the Citroen Berlingo). There's not a lot of width between the rear seats for the folded bike so I tend to carry it unfolded - and then have to climb over and around it.

I am planning to downsize the van later this year and do a more customised self-build on a LWB Kangoo or Berlingo. On thing I've been looking into is the possibility of charging the bike while away. I don't use campsites so I'd be looking at charging via the leisure battery and (500W) wired-in inverter. Does anyone here do this? Is it practical?

That's a big ask, I've not done the maths but imagine you'd need two leisure batteries with around 230 ah and a solar panel to try to top them up after your bike battery has pinched all the power.

It's something I hope to achieve, I just need the solar panel now.
