Skiploads of good deals continue to be offered for worthless tat on AliExpress... so here's a heads up for anyone still using Windows 7 or/and XP: AliExpress functions using this new browser on both operating systems, as do other websites which need various new web features. And it's arrived just in time! Even Opera can't load some Google services on XP anymore. Supermium works great! :)

You guys know most of it is fake, right?
I think Ali is particularly good on the store information, number of regular buyers, how many years old, number of followers, how many items sold in last 6 months, store rating, communication rating, reviews.

If you take all that and look at the item descriptions and communicate with the seller beforehand I think it is considerably lower risk than eBay or Amazon.

I've been using the same AliExpress seller for ebike batteries for the last 5 years. The batteries I have purchased over the years from them are well built with Samsung/LG cells and are still delivering the same great performance/range as they were new after a lot of use. Great comms, good delivery times, no import tax, and superp prices especially when you combine it with special offers, discount codes, and quidco/topcashback . Plus I can request the exact Hailong base plate mount I have already, choice of battery cable terminal etc.

If anyone is interested here's the seller. The owner Herbert has good english and easy to contact. I've no association with the seller (other than a satisfied customer)or benefit in recommending them

I've ordered a boatload of stuff from Aliexpress and never had a problem, except one time when I ordered something that was obviously fake because I was curious to see what I'd get. I was able to satisfy my curiosity and I got my money back from Aliexpress using their complaints system. The item was a 12TB disc drive for about £15. Inside the case was a double micro SSD holder with one 256GB SSD in it and some spoofing software so it looked like you had 12TB when you plugged it in to the USB. I therefore ended up with a free 256GB SSD.

As I have full confidence in Aliexpress, I recently ordered a £2,100 item from them, which I might tell you about when it comes. It's not related directly to ebikes.

Depends what you buy, things like music gear, guitar pedals and FX units tend not to be faked and there are some real bargains to be had and they are usually 50-65% cheaper than UK. Most the bike stuff is the same as you get here too.

The mouse I'm using right now is deffo a logitech fake though, I don't imagine it will last more a few weeks/months however it was only £3...

Have you bought a fake mini?

Great tip about checking the seller's rating first! It can definitely save a lot of hassle later on.
Oh, you're yet another disgusting spambot - reported. You edit in spam when you see your post quoted. I deleted the spam you'd edited in, then noticed you'd reverted your edit to remove your spam link, somehow without altering the timestamp. Sneaky and disgusting.

AliExpress make that impossible for "Choice Delivery" offers, and stuff turns up, turns out ok, so I don't bother checking seller rating anymore, not least because against all expectation, AliExpress refunded me a few weeks ago for a laser printer part, citing my "Good reputation". First I've heard about that lol. Ebay, AliExpress, Amazon etc. would much rather users didn't know too much about sellers. They don't want spanners of user hesitancy being thrown into the works of their money printing machines... so they obfuscate to maximise sales. About 12 years ago, ebay stopped enabling users ranking searches for products by "Top rated sellers". Annoying, but at least ebay seller ratings remain listed next to products, unlike AliExpress, and sponsored ads are marked such, unlike AliExpress.

I'm wondering how many of those from the "UK" being sold on ebay etc. are simply dropshipped by AliExpress sellers. Sellers say when they're dropship friendly.

Hope so, And give AI a lil while and the 1 word 5star reviews will be replaced with increasingly authentic reading fakes too..
I pay attention to the really angry bad reviews, horrific photos are a bonus. So far, I haven't responded to offers for free products in return for writing reviews, largely because I haven't been offered anything valuable enough.
