    Bangxiety meter

Hi, I've been working on a project for the last 18 months or so, and now that it's in a fairly useable/functional state I've decided to share it here. So what is it ? It's an open source power consumption and range meter :D Right now you can download and compile the source code (it runs on an...

!!!!! HELP me with my 26" Bafang Rear Wheel Build please !!!!!

Bit late, but you may find my thread here useful as I've just (last month) fitted this exact kit with the torque arms from BMS to an '18 Kraken (probably older than yours - it's a 2006 model). hth sp

    Password Renewal

Couldn't agree more, and to be clear it annoys the ** out of me too  ...and would make it much easier for someone to try and guess it over a longer period of time and make all those passwords written down from years ago still relevant.... It's a little bit chicken and egg, and I'm...

    Password Renewal

I know it's a pain but.. *THIS* (writing down passwords on a piece of paper) is the main reason I'm aware of that drives the change your password every xx days system behavior ! Someone reads the jotter on your desk and can login into all your systems ? Depending on what they have got access...

    Frozen brakes and gears

I would suggest lithium grease in a can. It 'dries' to a semi-solid state so will stay inside the brake leaver housing where as oil would drip out. Also really good to stop locks freezing up.

    More winter prep

I've replaced the inner & outer and re-routed the gear cable for the front derailleur and plan to the same to the rear derailleur, but because of my re-route I need two long gear cables rather than a long & a short as was supplied in the kit. Not too bad so far. I put a new chain and rear...

    More winter prep

Hi, starting to get my bike ready for the coming winter and a month or so ago I order some replacement gear cables and a cable stop (hard to find) to re-route the cables so they could be covered as much as possible. Anyway, this is what I started with (yes, it really is that muddy)...

    New PowerPak

Interesting, I'm working on something similar and I'm planning to do it as open source hardware and software. It'd be interesting to compare the two. sp

Exactly what I was thinking Geebee - all I could find is a tiny disclaimer (the rider rides at their own risk or something) Frank - I'd welcome your input on this. sal_park

    getting ready for winter

I'd suggest you go for winter tyres (something like the winter 2 mentioned below) rather than a specific width. I'm not sure if people generally realise, but winter tyres have a different rubber compound which remains soft at lower temperatures and hence will have more grip than a summer tyre...

    hello

yes, it's the 8fun motor, well spotted. I think the reason the first battery died can only be termed 'battery abuse'. I got around 100 charges from it but like I say I think because of the terrain I use it over (mainly off road, woods and gravel paths) I was sending it to an early grave.
