    Brown, Black, Black, Gold, Brown which is 10ohms 1%, it also measures 10ohms in-circuit and feeds the input to the 7812 voltage regulator. You'll have to use a fairly powerful soldering iron as the board is double sided and there's a lot of copper which will suck the heat right out of the tip...

    It's probably just that some dodgy adverts have been put into rotation, nothing to worry about as long as your browser and anti-malware programs are up to date. Though this site's admin will be busy with the advertisers and Google tomorrow morning.

    Two of the pins connect to the terminals of the middle battery, one of the pins connects to the +ve terminal of an end battery, the last pin connects to the -ve of the remaining battery. Presumably it is for testing individual batteries, you could also charge the batteries individually...

    It's a fancy transistor which (normally) controls the power to the motor. On the two controller boards I have in front of me it's marked "Q3" and is the rightmost device screwed to the heatsink. As for testing it, that might not be straightforward without desoldering it but Google "testing...

    The MOSFET on these controllers can fail short circuit and cause the motor to run full power. Assuming there's no wiring problems it would be the first thing I'd check.
