Powabyke mk1 classic

HELLO
I own a powabyke mk1 classic which has given good service until last week when it got knocked over now when I turn the ignition key the motor runs at constant full speed, has anyone else experienced this problem any help greatly appreciated

its probably either the throttle shorting eg. broken wire or the controller . try disconnecting the throttle first.

Thanks for the response I have removed the throttle plug/wires from the printed circuit board

I have same problem with my Mk1. If I find a solution I will post it here, would you mind doing the same?

The MOSFET on these controllers can fail short circuit and cause the motor to run full power. Assuming there's no wiring problems it would be the first thing I'd check.

Thanks for the reply but what is the MOSFET and how can I check this out
It's a fancy transistor which (normally) controls the power to the motor. On the two controller boards I have in front of me it's marked "Q3" and is the rightmost device screwed to the heatsink.

As for testing it, that might not be straightforward without desoldering it but Google "testing mosfet" and see what you think.

Thanks for the reply but I dont have the equipment or the electrical nouse to check this component,I am aware that buying a new printed cicuit board may not be the cheapest option but it should solve the problem as the mosfet is on this circuit board
