Well thanks for the heads up I've found an auto electrician who said he would solder xt60 for £20 which is what a soldering iron would cost me. Just out of interest why do soldered ones not catch fire and crimped ones do ?

The guy above said no crimping i'm totally confused now.

I am changing the motor over soon this was just a test build using an old bike. So being able to chop and change would be a bonus, as i've also got a 350w motor for the next build and was hoping to just use one battery. I suppose if they need to be soldered an auto electrician might be my best bet.

The ones on it now are crimped (battery side ) no solder. But they don't fit the motor properly i've had to tape them together. I've done 300 miles so far on the motor.

i've seen Powerpoles used before on radio stuff before good call. Didn't know they could be used on bikes as well. They can be crimped from memory. If it's allowed can you recommend a good shop for a set ? I know the Chinese copy's are poor quality.

want to split them up again soon connectors are easier plus i'm useless with soldering iron my nickname is shaking stevens.
