Hi all,

I was wondering what the default size of the the bullet connectors found on a BBS01B are they 4mm or 5mm? Also does anyone know the actual gauge of the wires used? I am trying to find the correct size for my battery connections to marry the pair. The ones supplied with the battery are useless and just drop out of the original Bafang ones.

Thanks

14g for battery wires are good for up to 30 amps. BBS01 is 15 amps by default.
Thank you ! any idea about the bullet connectors size? So I would need the blue bullet connector from this example ? I measured the wire with coating to be 3.2mm.

want to split them up again soon connectors are easier plus i'm useless with soldering iron my nickname is shaking stevens.
Use xt60, xt90 or Anderson. Bullet connectors are the worst you can use. Most have very poor insulation qualities

i've seen Powerpoles used before on radio stuff before good call. Didn't know they could be used on bikes as well. They can be crimped from memory. If it's allowed can you recommend a good shop for a set ? I know the Chinese copy's are poor quality.

I think RS still sell them, but have used knockoffs off eBay recently. To be honest most of the motors come from China. So why not use the Chinese Anderson copies;)

Not for an Ebike motor or battery. They'll catch fire when you go up a hill.
So that's why they always come from China with bullet connectors:D:D:D:D:D:D

The ones on it now are crimped (battery side ) no solder. But they don't fit the motor properly i've had to tape them together. I've done 300 miles so far on the motor.

Ill fitting / mis-matched connectors will cause issues in the long run. TBH I would change both to something that matches, be it xt or Anderson. Avoid bullet, the insulation is very poor on most!
Like you I like to be able to disconnect should I wish to move the battery holder to a different bike.
VFR likes the simplicity and reliability of solder/sleeve. I can see its merits ..... its not for everyone!

I am changing the motor over soon this was just a test build using an old bike. So being able to chop and change would be a bonus, as i've also got a 350w motor for the next build and was hoping to just use one battery. I suppose if they need to be soldered an auto electrician might be my best bet.

The Anderson connectors I bought are crimp on, easy to do
