Sold Secure Gold lock for Wisper Wayfarer Crossbar help

I have an Abus Sold Secure Gold D lock which came with a bracket to secure to the bike and clip the lock into for carrying. After looking at which bars the bracket would fit on I fixed it to the chain stay, so the lock is held parallel and close to the vertical side of the rear rack. It needed a...

    Here goes another one...

I didn’t know the pigeon was male. But leaving his bits aside I was of course referring to the lead shot that brought him to his fall from the sky. Although in these days of heightened health and safety I expect they no longer use lead but some other less polluting metal instead.

    Here goes another one...

I agree Soundwave pigeon tastes awful. Very strong game bird flavour. And of course those that fall out of the sky often have those horrible lead balls inside. If you hang the bird for a few days it will make taste even stronger. Yuk.

    Wrist Mirrors

I’ve tried them and think they are better than nothing but not as good as fixed mirrors. Better to have a fixed mirror each side and forget the wrist mirror. Also I wonder if I fell off the bike while wearing one would the wrist mirror make it more likely to injure my wrist? P. S. Are you...

Wisper Rear Brake Improvement - Suggestions Please

Hi Chris301up, I resisted a smart phone for years as I didn’t need one. Then a mate got a cheap one he couldn’t get to work so gave it to me just when my old phone packed up. The problem was a simple one, he forgot to top up his new sim . Put my sim in and have been using it ever since. I just...

Help! Raleigh motus. where to/ how to fix accessories

Hi Lara-Jess, I have a Motus step through bike and pondered where to locate my D-lock on the bike. In the end I’ve fitted the holder to the seat stay, the tube from near the centre of the rear wheel that goes diagonally upwards towards the saddle. At first I occasionally rubbed the side of my...

Most People Don't Know How Bikes Work

As a seven year old I saw a Blue Peter program where they explained the theory of how to ride a bike. They started with a bucket being swung around and the contents remaining in the bucket due to the centrifugal forces. Then the expert explained that a bicycle stayed up by using the same...

    New battery

Hi Saneagle I have the offer of a Raleigh Stoweway that needs a new battery. They have TranzX electrics. The Raleigh price for the batteries is stupidly high making the bike worthless unless you know of a reasonably priced battery to suit. Any suggestions?

    Titanium wrist electric shock risk?

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry to hear of your allergy to titanium. My girlfriend hasn’t been told what metal was used. When she had the plaster off she asked the doctor who looked at her notes and said he wasn’t sure either titanium or stainless steel. I hadn’t realised how serious a...

    Titanium wrist electric shock risk?

Hi I893469365902345609348566, I was wondering if I could ask a question regarding your wrist injury? Looking at the X-ray picture of the plate in your wrist I was wondering how long it took you to get back cycling again after the op.? By cycling I mean riding without pain or fatigue from the...

Low step for a man yes or no?

Yes. Low step does it for me, and as I’ve aged it’s become essential.

    New E Bike

Not sure that Raleigh e-bikes have throttles. The only Raleigh e-bikes I’ve ridden are the Motus and Stoweway neither of which have throttles so the Woosh may be the only suitable one from your list.

    Step through bike uphill

Now I'm in my 70s I can't get my leg over, in the strictly bicycle seance, so have a low step ebike. It's great for roads, hills, bridle paths, fields and corners. Sounds like those jokers with their frame failure stories are jealous of your great bike.

    Legal Pitfalls

Hi TwoWheels, have you tried to get redress through your payment method? If you paid by credit card then your purchase may technically be from your credit card provider who should be able to help. If you paid by PayPal they may be able to help. Worth a try.

Help please ebike insurance Raleigh Motus Tour hub

I also have a Raleigh Motus and the easiest way to insure it against theft is to add it to your home insurance. You should be able to include cover for when the bike is away from home as long as it’s locked to an immovable abject when not in use. Another source, but one I’ve not tried, is to...

    Raleigh Stow-Away e-bike?

Hi RHB123 I've just looked at Halfords website and the Raleigh Stoweway price is £1399. Where did you find the cheaper £1000 price?

    Raleigh Stow-Away e-bike?

Meanwhile back with the Raleigh Stoweway. My sister has one and it's nice to ride and impressive on hills. It's great on gravel cycle paths which was quite a surprise to me, much better than I expected from 20" wheels. It is easily folded and has magnets to hold it in the folded position. Thus...

Is it safe to connect a 40W elecric blanket to my ebike battery?

If keeping your feet warm is the primary objective why not try electrically heated socks or insoles? I’ve not tried them myself but did try electrically heated handlebar grips on a microlight plane one winter and they kept my hands nice and warm.

my office building is instituting a ban on lithium-ion cell e-bikes. what options do i have?

Do they ban all mobile phones as well? They use lithium batteries and have been known to catch fire in the past, or is it just ebike prejudice?
