Replacement electric parts for Raleigh Stoweway (Tranzx)?

Thanks that’s useful to know. My sister’s Stoweway comes on sometimes and not others and if on can suddenly die leaving a hard cycle home. One local bike shop suggested it would cost £700 to repair but hadn’t done any diagnostics, they were keen to sell her a new bike. She has found another lbs...

Replacement electric parts for Raleigh Stoweway (Tranzx)?

Hi Edinburgh30 have you had any luck sorting your Stoweway out? My sister has the same problem with hers and I was hoping to point her in the right direction. Hi Cyclebuddy thanks for the helpful posts.

Disc brakes onto a “ladies” bike

Just a thought, there was a lady who converted a low step Pashley here: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/convert-a-old-lady-pashley-for-hills.32404/ Hub brakes rather than discs though. Might be suitable with a second hand Pashley. Another thought is some makes of ebike use hydraulic...

    Locks

Yes just yesterday saw a Specialised Mountain Bike with three locks securing the frame to a metal security fence, both wheels, front folks, cranks/peddles and seat taken. Looked like a very nice clean frame but not much use now. For myself I use a Gold Standard D lock one end and a heavy...

Bike seat for long commute ?

Great the saddle is working. It will be very interesting to see how you get on with the handlebar change as well.

Bike seat for long commute ?

I changed my standard Raleigh Selle Royal seat for a Brooks B67 and I’m very pleased with it. As pointed out by others seat and handlebar position make a big difference. I think the B67 favours an upright riding position but that may just be me.

Long range hilly terrain road/path bike.

Now that would be very interesting and well worth doing. Unfortunately my sister lives one hundred miles from me so can’t happen any time soon but when able I’d like to try.

Long range hilly terrain road/path bike.

Hi VFR Yes I think the Motus will have a lower bottom ratio which will help on hills although I’ve not checked that out. My thought is that by having the gears between the motor and the wheel a crank drive can be run closer to its peak efficiency so using more power to drive you forward and...

Long range hilly terrain road/path bike.

Hi Raven feeder I rode 3/4 of the Drakes Trail from Tavistock last September. It’s a nice ride. The bit after 'The Old Station' at Horrabride towards Yelverton is steep. Myself and my brother in-law on Raleigh Motus GT crank drive bikes found the clime relatively easy. My sister on a Raleigh...

Torque v cadence - which has more efficient battery usage (my wife's battery ran out, mine did not...)?

If you look at Wisper bikes they have the same bikes with a choice of either cadence or toque drive and suggest that toque gives up to 30% more distance. https://wisperbikes.com/shop/e-bikes/step-through-ebikes/705-26-2019/ Of course as has been suggested the extra distance with toque drive is...

    Brooks Saddles

I bought a Raleigh Motus ebike in January and couldn’t get on with the Selle Royal saddle. My rides were getting shorter due to the increasing pain in the rear the further I rode. I changed to a Brooks B67. It was the exact opposite, it started painfully but got more comfortable the further I...

Insurance for electric bike - looking for a recommendation and advice

Very interesting point. I obviously need to clearly read the small print. When I asked about adding PLI for bike accidents away from home I was told it was already covered.

Cube Bosch Performance cx Burns out

Hi Izumojo Sorry to hear of your problems. I’m curious so may I ask how was the motor diagnosed as burnt out? Was it diagnosed by a Bosch dealer or do you have a way of determining it yourself. Thanks

Insurance for electric bike - looking for a recommendation and advice

When I bought my ebike earlier in January I checked my home insurance (LV) and for a nominal sum, can’t remember how much, got the ebike added. The PLI also covers similar to Zoros' above. Had the bike cost less than £2000 it would of been automatically covered. When renewal time came for the...

Wisper Locking a Wisper Folding Bike 806

Hi Geoff I think the 806 is one of the best looking folders although I’ve never ridden one. My sister has a Raleigh Stoweway folding ebike and uses a D lock (or U lock) to secure it folded to bike racks. It works well. I have a non folding ebike and use a Abus D lock which I’m very pleased with...

    GEARS AND POWER OUTPUT.

Looking at pictures of your model of ebike online, the display appears to have a motor power indication by the vertical bars on the right hand side. If this is the case you can try different gears at a constant speed (mph) and on a level road, to see what difference they make to your peddling...

    Problem with Impulse 2 motor

Hi Skyeye How old is your bike? If less than 3 years it may still be under warranty. If older my apologies for the false hope. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/kalkhoff-impulse-motor-warranty-extension.36807/#post-543229

    Walk Assist

I lost the text I’d posted so deleted my my first attempt at a reply. I’ll try again. I have a Raleigh Motus with Bosch motor and I think the same display. To use walk assist press the side button to set it up followed by the + button and then start walking. The electronics will then sense...
