    Djavelo and the Schwinn Continental

There's a lead article on this website about these 2 bikes. The Djavelo seems to have died a death, but is the Schwinn in production in the USA now? This is a handsome bike (at last..), and if it performs to half of it's quoted spec it's still good. Potentially I could pick one up in NY when I'm...

    Price of lithium batteries

Battery prices Flecc, I think Leonardo is suggesting these prices are exorbitant, not low (i.e. you can buy a pedelec for less than a replacement battery). £400 to £500 for a battery equates to a lot of diesel for a small efficient car let alone a 100mpg moped...my calculations suggest I...

    Torq II?

Battery reserve There's absolutely no point in any form of battery reserve. You can pedal home if you need to (unlike a motorcycle...I had to push my CBR600 5 miles through the Jura mountains having run out of juice). The 3 major areas are clearly: better batteries, lower weight and styling...

Got a eZee Sprint 7 - it is fantastic

Oh dear.. I've been very close to buying a Torq but some of the comments in this forum suggest that more development is in order. Motors cutting out, lithium batteries self igniting ('they shouldn't be charged indoors'!!), and rapid dwindling of battery reserves. Would I be better cycling to...

    Help...which bike?

Thanks for all the replies. The route is Winchester-Basingstoke which only has 1 or 2 big hills, but is a genuine 20 miles door to door and up and down all the way. I'm still tempted by the Torq, thanks 50cycles I'll be in contact asap (I'm away for a few days). A couple of other questions which...

    Help...which bike?

Thanks Guys. I'm a bit disappointed about the news re the Torq. One of my main prerequisites was a need for a bike that doesn't look like a 1950s Raleigh shopper, which most of the electric bikes on the market seem to resemble (this has put me off Powabykes). The manufacturer's (Ezee Torq)...

    Help...which bike?

3 years of 40 mile round trips to work (on and off) on my Bianchi and I'm a bit knackered and getting lazy(ish). Need recommendations for an electric bike which is up to a 20 mile hilly trip (I can recharge at work). I like the look of the ezee torq...has anyone used it for this type of work...
