    Riding in the rain footwear

It's been lashing down and my original plan to attach plastic bags over my feet failed. Well it works but not ideal tbh. I've been looking at options and I'm not messing about with expensive overshoes ect. I've decided to wear wellies:D I can drop waterproof trousers over the top. If they rub...

Storing battery outside in winter - what insulation?

I'm going to put a sonoff WiFi switch on my charger cable. Cost £6. I can control from phone either timed or manuel. Currently using a plugin timer. I just turn leaving a set time remaining. Takes 6 hours to charge my battery so most nights I turn timer allowing for 2 hours charging. I never...

Storing battery outside in winter - what insulation?

I don't always change battery inside house and I use a timed plug to cut power after a set time just incase I forgot. Fine to store battery in the house. I must have 20+ lithium Ion batteries in our house. Phones. Ear buds. Toys. Cameras. Shavers and many more. Li-Ion cells will become...

Safe cycle routes. Are there any really?

Having ridden 500 miles in the last few months I've had a number of near miss accidents riding some routes. I try and ride safely but on shared pedestrian and cycle paths it's starting to worry me. The worst is pedestrians going directly across cycle lanes out of nowhere. There are benches...

    Move bike saddle back.

I want to move my saddle back but I can't. It's already back as far as possible. My bike is a 22inch frame mountain bike and im a little over 6 foot tall. Looking online at riding positions, I need to move the saddle back 50mm but I can't. Is there a bracket/mount I could fit to seat post to...

Why is so much illegal 'commuting' not policed ?

I was told and the wife ( not saying where pleading the 5th amendment) years apart on course that the speed limits are the maximum not a target

Why is so much illegal 'commuting' not policed ?

I had a mate who was fined for 31mph in a 30 zone. That's the law. Recent article below may hint at what's to come..... https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/dont-fine-drivers-for-doing-30mph-in-a-31mph-zone/ Plus in Wales most 30mph will drop to 20mph. I think e-bikes may start to stand out when...

Why is so much illegal 'commuting' not policed ?

Re police. My 80 year old mother in law was doing 33mph in a 30mph zone driving to get petrol today. Quick. Crush car and fine her £1000. I was doing 18mph on my electric bike today. Quick. Crush bike and fine me £1000. I was breaking the law. Wouldn't it be cool if you were to break the speed...

    DIY rivnut fitting kit

@saneagle I bought a topeak bicycle pannier rack off eBay. My current rack will get scraped when I get around to swapping it. Was not a good buy. Thanks for Idea though. It is solid though with rivnut through bottom. It's the legs that are not good and rack collapsed last week while on rough...

    DIY rivnut fitting kit

To buy a rivnut tool or make one is just a preference. I've got loads of tools I've only used once like a watch strap link remover. Sometimes it's fun to spend half hour masking something Vs buying.

    DIY rivnut fitting kit

@PC2017 I fitted the top two rivnuts. Had to file off the bottom one as protruded a bit fouling the bottom of the battery fitting plate. Not sure why original bottle mount was so low
