Wind was the worst for me on the commute, really takes it out of you. I've had 4 times on the ebike where I'd be in the granny gear and a mess when I got home on the normal bike but happily pedalled along at 13mph with no issues at all. Just makes it so much easier.

I've managed to snap 4 on my Carrera rear wheel (none electric). Also stripped the rear hub, bought a complete new wheel for £45 when that happened.

Stick with it for the first week and you'll be cycling to work all the time!.

2.5 volts isn't worth trying to recover (unless you don't rely on the car for work etc). Normally 5 years out of a lead acid is a good stint. I prefer Bosch Silver batteries for cars. If the car is sat for long periods you can fit an Optimate battery tender, basically just leave it plugged in...

Very strange, looking at the "motor" from a motorcycle mechanics perspective it's instantly recognisable as a Yamaha. Agreed with the cable routing, pretty bad idea..

Bb02 or hd are significantly cheaper by the look of it..

Looks nice!. I just wonder how well the pivot will stand up to wear in the long term (oil shocks are self lubricating).
