ARCC Moulton and the Process of Getting There (LONG)

It's worth noting that level 1 position is had when the switch is fully turned to the left. I had mistakenly thought it was one click up from that position.

ARCC Moulton and the Process of Getting There (LONG)

Many thanks for your review. I own a Moulton TSR27 with an ARC retro e-assist and live in relatively hilly countryside....the winds are always there but nothing like Shetland. I find that on the lowest level of assist I can usually get around 25 miles and that includes a few hills. Switch up the...

    SPOKES

A large hub does present problems as to lacing and especially when a smaller heel is used. Some IGH manufacturers (e.g. Rohloff) will insist upon a particular lacing pattern as experience has taught them that the angle of the spoke/flange is critical if breakage is to be avoided. It could be...

    SPOKES

I've never had to give spokes much thought as in over forty years of cycle-camping I've never broken one....discounting the time I fell into rail tracks in Troyes and broke my rear hub. For that time though I loaded up with tent, all my camping gear and tools and spares and every year cycled...

    SPOKES

Best to have a look at some of these threads where the subject of spokes, fatigue and build have been done to death. Lots of good stuff here by people who have built wheels for a living and are very knowledgeable...

    SPOKES

Err....well done but I have over 65 year's experience with rustless spokes on bikes......mind you it could have been one year's experience repeated over 65 years. :) I've repaired bikes and wheels for paying customers and KTM in this thread has also built wheels for a living and I'd be...

    SPOKES

Not true I'm afraid. "Rustless" or "galvanised" spokes of yesteryear were never as strong as today's spokes and broke with monotonous regularity. Good quality modern stainless spokes are made with superior materials and superior manufacturing processes and the double-butted ones are designed to...

    SPOKES

That's true....it indicates that there's fatigue at the elbows and all spokes should be tightened to their proper level, stressed and de-stressed before ensuring that the spoke tensions are all within parameters. The problem is that machine-made wheels are usually radially correct but the...

    Hi all.

Thanks Dave, I should have it back in a few days so I'll have to see how it goes. It's not my weight it's the problem but a dodgy heart and I'm hoping the assist helps me to join up with my friends once more. I'm going to report back when I've put some miles in. Cheers.

    ARCC conversion

I have no worries about the quality but like you, do expect the mileage predicted to be optimistic. Having a couple of extra batteries to hand will help of course but time will tell. I'll report back once I've given the thing a good go and until then it's fingers crossed.

    ARCC conversion

Hi all.....sent my Moulton TSR 27 off for conversion to the above firm a few days ago and hope this will be enough to keep me cycling another few years. Very expensive, but I need the suspension of the Moulton and if it works it will be worth it. Little information about this kit other than...

    Hi all.

Hi.... Just joined the forum as I'm in the process of having my Moulton TSR27 converted by ARCC innovations (at an eye-watering cost) and know from experience that forums like these are the best place for support and information. I needed to keep my Moulton as health problems mean that I need...
