I find you funny too, at times. The founders might have intended that albeit it seems to be little more than yet another opinion, that was just the original six members and yet two of them rejected the concept outright, France and Holland. Given that was in 2005 and Churchill died in 1965 you...

No mention of an USE in there at all.

It's homophobic to be precise and I'm not so sure Zlatan would approve.

I have to admit that both of our dogs have a fascination for the stuff and roll in it given half a chance - I doubt that yours would hold any appeal, at all.

Pity that he's still not with us. The truth here is that you have put words into his mouth to make your point. When he first proposed the United States of Europe he clearly said not for us, or words to that effect? The second time was for the Economic Union which not the same thing at all. So it...

You might as well get rid of the evidence at the same time and put them on the NHS one - a trip to nowhere!

Unfair but true. Hopefully a good circular start? Yes there will indeed be less car ownership in the larger urban areas. But, there will be an increase in the rural area and very much so for the disabled / infirm. I do suspect that overall there will be less ownership. That won't have a...

Again I agree, there is a but though. The workforce to make the parts and assemble an EV will be so much smaller so, whatever happens that means less people employed, in building cars. I suspect that the UK arm of Nissan in London will do well out of the changeover, not so Sunderland although...

Very good analogy, they understood the concept very well. But, it collapsed as an Empire, as they all do at some point in time. So it goes on and on... even in a small office environment - new broom and all that.

Maybe, but the French are far more militant than even Old Tom might be - it will lose them time I suspect. The only way, commercially, to handle this sort of thing is to have a completely new company as a start-up without the 'baggage' of a redundant workforce. OK Tom, not nice I totally...

All true of course. However the car industry is on the cusp of massive change and that, in my view, means an opportunity is on the horizon. Germany and France will have trouble on their hands when their industries find themselves needing to downsize big time.

The - or does it? was the clue. People are not unlike a flock of sheep who need a dog in the same field, not 500 miles away. I fully accept your description of 'progressive democracy' House - street - village - town - county etc. There is a limit however and it's been (over) reached.
