    Oxygen eMate Speed sensdor switch

My Oxygen has an intermittent power fault that I'm hoping I've cured. When cleaning the bike I noticed that the current sensor fitted is the usual disc with magnets and a sensor stuck on the drive side of the bottom bracket. The disc is slightly out of true and the magnets aren't all the same...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

It could also be a couple of links in the chain stuck together. Try wiggling every link joint and see if any are fused. If they are and it's not too bad, apply oil and leave a while and then try again. This only happens in the higher gears where the chain has to complete a smaller circle to get...

    Oxygen eMate Power Issue

Right, it's had a decent clean today. The drivetrain in particular was clogged up with grunge. Luckily, I had my new cleaning brush with lots of noon & cranny cleaning bits. I sprayed some WD40 on all the wiring joints, except I forgot to look at the PAS sensor! I'll take a look at that on...

    Oxygen eMate Power Issue

Thanks. I charge up the battry in-situ, so I don't think it's that, but I'll check the terminals. I'm going to give the bike a very good clean on Friday and take a look at all the obvious electrical connections. A squirt of grease can't do any harm.

    Oxygen eMate Power Issue

    Still persisting. Very strange.

    Oxygen eMate Power Issue

http://pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/oxygen-e-mate-fs.25188/ This one... As it happens, the sensor was very crudded up, so I cleared the gap and got some of the worst of the mud off the magnets. It seemed better on the way home. It really needs a good wash.

    Oxygen eMate Power Issue

So, I'm riding along and the power cuts in and out gradually. On most of the time, it then slowly subsides and returns, so it's not a quick on/off thing. The bike is very grubby, so I'm going to give the PAS sensor magnets and pick up a good clean, but is there anything else that could be...

Conversion for daily 20 mile commute

I like having the brake cut out. It means I can change down (derailleur) gears on the approach to a junction whilst gripping the levers just enough to activate the cut out but not enough to apply the brakes. That way the approach to the junction is unpowered whilst I'm still pedalling to change...

Dahon Jetstream 24 Speed Folding Electric Bike

I may be interested if I get a job I'm applying for, and I'd need a folder for the commute. It seems to be only throttle controlled, is that right? If so, could a PAS be fitted to the controller? TIA

    Spare Oxygen eMate Rear Wheel

I'm still pondering whether to do this, but I thought I'd point out that neither Oxydrive nor Oxygen bothered to respond to my requests for a price, using their web contact forms... Disappointing.

    Battery/Charger Compatibility

As it happens, both chargers have the same voltage & amperage outputs. The Woosh one is smaller so that'll be the one I take on my summer tour.

    Battery/Charger Compatibility

Thanks. Is there something in the electronic gubbins in the battery pack that stops overcharging?

    Battery/Charger Compatibility

My Oxygen battery came with a dedicated charger and both work just fine. I do, however, have a charger left over from when I disposed of my Woosh Sirocco and its battery. Would I be able to use the Woosh charger to charge the Oxygen battery, or are there risks involved?

Oxygen S-CROSS ST vs Momentum Model T

I'm the punter who has probably contributed most to the Oxygen Emate thread linked above. My commute is 9.5 miles over an undulating route and with slow, heavy Schwalbe Ice Spiker tyres fitted I can do that in 33 minutes (with Schwalbe Land Cruiser tyres I can do it in half an hour on a lower...

    Oxygen E mate MTB13AH

In the end I didn't adjust the seatpost. It seems to iron out the worst of bumps without actually appearing to do anything. My rear end certainly appreciates it! The Ice Spiker tyres are great, if noisy. They are bigger than the Land Cruisers though, so I removed the F&R mudguards. That meant I...

    Oxygen MTB off-road speed

Regarding the speed; I have my eMate set to Eco mode, level 6, so plenty more power to come. On Wednesday I was riding home in the dark along the shared path I use when I caught up with a bike and got ready to overtake. I noticed it was a bike courier as he (I assume) had one of those square...

    Derestrict Yes or No ?

If riding at speed in the dark, I use decent lights that don't flash. Drivers then think you're a motorbike - until it dawns on them that you're not, but by then they've given way. When the battery is low, the light reverts to flashing mode & then I slow down, as drivers equate flashing lights...
