    Brexit, for once some facts.

I, ll find it flecc. He said, and it's about 3 weeks ago, after been asked that very question, that yes it's a worry but a smaller worry than alternative.

Obviously Chris Witty isn't, whereas Flecc is..

Why is France /Italy/Germany now suffering a further wave??? Your arguments are hypothetical and irrelevant. We have a good vaccine, we know its safe, we know it works. Let's make it and get on with vaccinating people. It's not complicated.

Have a word with Chris Witty, seems you know more than he does. Give him a ring flecc. He obviously doesn't know all you mention. Unbelievable.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2021/mar/22/potential-for-eu-uk-vaccine-collaboration-despite-astrazeneca-row Better news, let's hope it comes to fruition. Interestingly the factory producing vaccine for AZ in Netherlands has not yet got EMA approval???

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We aren't though are we. Lockdown is naturally breaking down already. The anti lockdown feeling is growing and folk are easing off as we speak. Besides, we must at some time come out of lockdown. We simply can't stay in it indefinitely. And many can't. Daughter is, and has been for last year...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes but delaying second jab does not reduce demands on vaccine, it merely gets more single jabs in arms faster. The total amount needed is identical. And of course supply is finite, they have looked at amounts, looked at likely rate of vaccination and come to conclusion extended delay is best...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Chris Witty explained that weeks ago. And at time he explained very well why they had chosen path. Yes,it could increase chance of mutation but so does the higher infection rate associated with vaccinating slower. Its course of least risk.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

And the alternative is a real worry. Getting more 2nd jabs in arms but fewer people protected, so more people get ill and yet again combined with more chances for vaccine to mutate. Its all a matter of negotiating the route with least risk, unfortunately there isn't one with no risk. How many...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We did not extend delay because we hadn't got enough vaccine. We extended delay to get more jabs in arms quickly. The amount needed is identical, irrespective of delay. Everybody who has had first will get second. Stop pretending to be thick OG. You know full well extending delay does not affect...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

OG repeating that point again and again does not change anything. We know you didn't approve of delay, Chris Witty and his colleagues did. Be that the case or not the number of vaccines administered are still about 4 times any other European country. Imagine Belgium, has vaccinated a quarter of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

To be fair OG, you criticise everything. It sort of loses its affect. It seems to me you are wanting vaccine to fail. I don't think you, ve offered the slightest positive towards what has been an exceptional effort. Come on OG, give it a go. Try and see the positives. You are in a privileged...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

AZ made a statement a couple of weeks ago saying modified version would be available this Autumn and inferred no trials would be necessary?? But no dates or specifics were given. You are right tho, it's gone quiet.

He can blame EU now... He, ll be doing that at every fluctuation in supply of vaccine. Its the nasty EU banning exports that made roll out stutter...???

I, m afraid that age group experience high death rate all the time, and since vaccine does not necessarily prevent infection its likely that age group (or risk group are dying with covid now and not because of it) As I said earlier the true test will be 3 weeks after all age/risk groups are...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

But surely the deaths will correlate to infections from at least 3 weeks ago,ie when infections were much higher.... Bringing your death (%age) down. In top of which with vaccine taking 3 weeks to affect anything, even tho we have hit approx 50% of target group, 3 weeks ago that was only around...

https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-27-jabs-a-second-as-uk-marks-third-consecutive-record-day-of-vaccinations-12252659 Yep, I, m missing the point. I, d guess thankfully. And, not a nice statistic as it points to other countries' despair. Uk has dropped to 8th in Europe with regards death rate...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Uk broke record again yesterday with number of Vaccinations. 823,000 in a single day..That's over 2 million in 3 days. And OG works hard to make roll out look bad. Why???Seriously OG, what's your motivation??
  19. Z

    Brexit, for once some facts.

And by the same token Germany only has another 190 % to go. So what. UK has vaccinated approx 4 times that of any other European country. So why make point in first place???

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The whole point of assigning values to things is to compare to others and know where you stand.(it's the whole point of percentages, it provides a common base from which to compare) You chose a regime that makes our position look relatively worse, until the same procedure is used for others,when...
