This happened to my Wisper 905se too, took it back to the shop and they said there wasn't a problem with the wiring, but there seemed to be a fault in the controller (??) they then replaced the whole lever.

Thanks for that Danny K :) edited to add that, I think that cyclists need their own light signal in order to give them some some distance from other road users. seeing the cyclist under the van today is still upsetting me.. cycling really shouldn't be this dangerous...
