NEED one after the ride I just had!

Just like to say thanks to Dave for letting me try his bike. I was very impressed and feel I will have to get a crank drive due to these Yorkshire hills. All I need to decide on is a budget and type etc.

    Speed Pedelecs

The wobble bit was more of a joke lol. Now a 30 mile commute needs an engine in my opinion. A 125 cc scooter or a real motorbike. 30 miles is like going on holiday for a Yorkshire man!

    Speed Pedelecs

Yeah I guess that's a fair point. I get the wobbles down a big hill on a standard bike. A bike that can maintain 15 is probably fast enough especially on a short commute. They do look fun though.

    Speed Pedelecs

Shame they are not legal here. They are a real solution to congestion and fuel costs as well as being a cost effective green solution. Not enough tax can be made though so they will never be that begin the uk unfortunately. I would love one but I would end up even fatter lol. I just would not...

NEED one after the ride I just had!

I am in Leeds so may be a little far. That seems good value too. I am not going to be in a position to purchase one until 1st week in April at the moment and I also need to find out about the cycle to work scheme at my new job so see if its worth while or better to buy out right etc. Simon.

NEED one after the ride I just had!

The battery and 500w kits mentioned here will be under 500 even after taxes so basing it on that. Though no real warranty I suppose. I think a complete bike at around 1k will be much better value than conversion in my case by the look of the UK kit prices.

    Bafang Code 12 Motor/Wheel + KU123

What would I need with this wheel/motor to convert my current bike? I assume a battery/rack only? I have a 26" claude butler rock with standard brakes. What sort of hill climbing and top speed would I expect from it? Only needs a range of 20 miles too so what battery could you recommend? Is...

NEED one after the ride I just had!

But even when you factor in all those you can buy 2 kits for the same price of one which helps cover warranty issues. Buying direct you still have to pay vat, duty and delivery but not the added massive amounts on top. We are ripped off with everything in the UK as it is as we all already know...

NEED one after the ride I just had!

Thanks for the info. I do prefer to buy from the UK but have bought loads of electronic goods direct from china in the past so not put off doing so if it saves money. The problem with the uk kits so far is they are not slightly more expensive but double price plus.

NEED one after the ride I just had!

That's is a very good price bike for what it has on it. I was thinking more hybrid though if I was to buy new. I could always add slicker tyres I suppose. I have had a look at your kits too but it would make a bike heading towards 2k:eek:

NEED one after the ride I just had!

To be honest I have never had any issue with the current brakes. It only needs new blocks and the cables oiling/adjusting. They have always stopped me ok.

NEED one after the ride I just had!

This the bike I am thinking of converting. It does need a new bottom bracket and new brakes and a new chain and tyres since its done 3467 miles according to my cycle computer which I am amazed the batteries still work. I will need to fit the battery rack on the rear as I want to fit panniers...

NEED one after the ride I just had!

I don't mind paying vat and duty, par for the course really. If ku sellers had them I agree they have to add everything and make a profit. Still sometimes many people just prefer to pay that premium to get from the uk. Though I am sure there is not enough demand for a UK supplier to bother with...

NEED one after the ride I just had!

Fair point, not an issue really though. Shame there are no uk suppliers of the same kit. I have bought loads of stuff from china and never paid duty but never ordered a battery.

NEED one after the ride I just had!

What sort of hill climbing capability would the motor kit have with this battery? 48V10Ah LiFePO4 Alloy 03-CASE EBike Battery With a Carrier Rack - BMSBATTERY Top speed of around 20 would be good too. The controller included with the bpm motor kit, is it ok or best with another? With the kit...

NEED one after the ride I just had!

These seem to be around £250 delivered plus duty if stopped etc. what would I need extra? I am guessing a rear battery rack and alu battery case. My bike is ok and suits me so a little tlc and this kit should be good. I have read about these motors and different codes. Is the one linked good for...

NEED one after the ride I just had!

I feel a self build is right for me due to being a Yorkshire man when it comes to money. I do not feel I could spend 2k plus on a bicycle ever being a motorcycle lover also I would be too tempted to get a real bike lol. Though that's not gonna get me fit is it. And a little aided exercise is...

    Trade Free Sunday

From a non religious person my opinion is it makes no difference to me. I shop on any day I choose that suits me if shops are open plus the web never shuts. Post away!

NEED one after the ride I just had!

Indeed he is. I am curious to see what a kalkhoff copy is too. I like the look of the new whoosh scirocco cd which surprises me as I always went for mountain bikes. Maybe I am growing up now I am 42! I am just curious about the type and spec of the crank motor in it.

I have had a look at his bikes as well as all the other advertisers but they are out of my price range for now. They look good though.
