    "Cheating"

He obviously thought you had divine powers! Did they put a caption on the club photo? Jim

    "Cheating"

Maybe that's it. We were going in the opposite direction to the runners so he might have thought we were on the way back and in the lead :) Jim

    "Cheating"

Even pedestrians are using the "c" word now! My wife and I were on a bike ride yesterday afternoon when we were unfortunate enough to get caught up in some kind of road race (runners on foot, not bikes). This was on a public road which was not closed for the event. As we emerged on the other...

In the footsteps of McEnroe, you cannot be serious

My first car was a 1957 Morris Minor. It cost £75 and went from 0 mph to a wheel wobble in a minute and a half. I sold it 3 years later for £60. Could have got about 40 of them for the price of my Rose! Jim

"It's not rubbish, it's ART, dearie..."

During her visit last week we took our grand-daughter to Edinburgh and at her request visited some "art" galleries. We couldn't believe they were serious with some of the stuff on display and the prices attached. Who do they think they are kidding? There was a lot of pretentious cwrap...

    Ebikes are fun!

I think we tend to lose sight of the fact that ebikes are fun given the amount of discussion on models, drives, prices, etc. Last week we enjoyed our first visit unaccompanied by our 16 year old grand-daughter and on the one dry day of her stay I took her out for a 10 mile ride, with her using...

In the footsteps of McEnroe, you cannot be serious

You lived in a really expensive place! I remember chips at 3 pence (old money) a bag; a fish supper for 1/3d and the first gallon of petrol I can remember buying myself was 4/6d! Mind you, I can buy more gallons of petrol with my weekly income now than I could then! Jim

    Journey into Space

"OK Digby" surely ;) Why did the Mekon seem to have all the fun? (Until he got his come-uppance that is) Jim

    Action Camera

Yes. I'm leaning towards that one after viewing techmoan's review. I also liked another of his recommendations - the Mobius - however its battery life in use is only about an hour, so not really long enough for my average bike ride. Thanks for your advice. Jim

    Action Camera

Hmm... The link to the £60 camera says that the price includes a second battery and that "each battery can last about an hour after fully charged". 1 hour or even 1 hour 20 mins doesn't seem much so it's back to the drawing board I think. Thanks for the comments. Jim

    Action Camera

After going back through the Aldi HD Action Camera thread at the end of last year I had more or less decided to go for the Hitachi camera from Argos. Unfortunately I left it too late, it's no longer in stock and doesn't seem to be available elsewhere. I'm now looking at the F9 1080 HD action...

    Is this Pedelec P*rn?

None of which features in my life I'm sad to say! :(

Freego Eagle....ready to hang on the back of a motorhome.

I think it's a removable crossbar for step-throughs which you can use for securing the bike on a workstand, bike carrier or whatever. Thule, among others, make them and I think you can buy them in Halfords.

    Hi from Fife

Hello again Blythe, I bought the Rose direct from Rose Bikes, Germany. They were very good to deal with and when I had a minor problem with the bike they arranged its pick-up and return to and from Germany in just over a week, at no cost to me. It's not a bike for everyone but it's a very-well...

    Hi from Fife

Hi Blythe Welcome to the forum. I also live in Fife. I have a Rose BionX bike and my wife has a Freego Eagle. As Cyclezee says there are a few ebike dealers within fairly easy reach however in this part of the country we're not too well off for places where you can try out properly different...

    Is this Pedelec P*rn?

The picture reminds me of a hobby I was quite keen on long before ebiking came along but I can't remember what it was :(

    Brains but no bike sense?

I found this while trawling through old newspaper archives the other day. No road sense these intellectuals! (Hope I've managed to attach this properly.)

    Lubricating chain and gear sprockets

Many thanks for all the replies and information. It would appear that what I'm doing is not too wide of the mark. I should have said that before lubing with White Lightning, I use Fenwicks FS1 as directed to clean the chain and sprockets to the best of my ability. Between thorough treatments...
