    House insurance and ebikes

Looks like their cover is just 3rd party so you won't be covered if you were injured in an accident that was your fault, such as pulling out in front of a car and getting hit etc.

    Shimano XT rear mech snapped

Good video, thanks soundwave, I'll keep an eye on the bearings in future.

    Shimano XT rear mech snapped

They are close to where I live, not heard of them before, useful to know, thanks.

    Shimano XT rear mech snapped

The derailleur hanger snapped when this whole saga started. back in January 2020 (see first post). A broken chain link dragged the derailleur around the cassette, snapping the hanger (you found me a replacement hanger :) ). With the new hanger fitted all then seemed ok, and I twisted the...

    Shimano XT rear mech snapped

Might be a easier to just get a new derailleur then. Not cheap this cycling milliarke is it :) Is it an easy bolt off & on job?

    Shimano XT rear mech snapped

Think my rear derailleur now ends replacing!!! After replacing my snapped rear derailleur hanger last January, I pretty much stopped ring the bike in March when lockdown started. Went out on it recently and noticed the new KMC E11 chain had a broken link. Couldn't work out how it had broke...

    Help! New chain needed ?

The last then I changed the chain I decided give an bike specific chain a try. I was getting fed up with normal chains snapping, so I bought the KMC E11 ebike specific chain which cost me about £35, hoping it would be worth it if it outlasted my previous chains. Not used my bike much since...

    Help! New chain needed ?

I know what you mean, but I'm probably outside of what 9 speed delivers. I want a really low gear to get up the steep hills on my way home, but I also want a really high gear for the sections that are flat so I can blast along like a demon. I'm guessing my 11 speed will give this benefit over a...

    Help! New chain needed ?

Not cheap though having to change cassette every two chains. 11 speed cassettes for my bike cost around £60 - £70, and chains around £20.

    Help! New chain needed ?

Well in the 3 years and 2000 miles that I've had my ebike, commuting 10 miles east day, I've on my 3ed cassette and probably 5th chain. I replace my chain when it starts slipping, or if the chain measuring tools tells me to. However, with all the bikes i had as a kid, I never once checked...

    Good point.

    Help! New chain needed ?

So did my 11 speed Cube Reaction Race 500, but when I purchased a replacement chain it was longer. I hung it up on a nail next to my worn chain and reduced it down to the same size using a chain breaker tool, and used a quick link to join the new chain ends together with a pair of chain pliers

    Bosch battery key replacement

Thankfully I found my spare key, which after spending an hour searching the loft I discovered it wan't in the loft, but in a kitchen cupboard!! Might try and get a spare cut, just to be safe.

    Bosch battery key replacement

I'm sure I did, but will have to go hunting in the loft for it!! I just wondered if they were an item that could be easily ordered in by the bike shop if they still have my details from when I purchased the bike. If I find my spare, are they the type of key that places like Timpsons can copy/cut?

    Bosch battery key replacement

Anyone know how easy/difficult it is to obtain a replacement key for removing the bosch battery from my Cube Race ebike? The bike repair shop may have lost it whilst my bike was in for repair, but they state I didn't leave the key with them, though I believe I did, but can't prove it. So I may...

    Bosch 503 Error

Took the bike to a local Bosch approved bike shop and they have fitted a new speed sensor cable, and its now back to working great. Frustratingly they performed a software update (I'd forgotten to tell them not to) but thankfully this update still works with my Badass 3.4 dongle, happy days.

    2018 Bosch software version?

Well thankfully some good news. Just picked up my Cube (with the latest update) and I'm pleased to say that my Badass dongle works fine, which surprised me. Apparently the battery has been optimised along with whatever else is included on the latest update. Anyone know what the latest update does?

    2018 Bosch software version?

I did intend to tell them not to perform any update, but it slipped my mind at the time. They assure me it can be reverted back to what it was, but initially I'm going to see my Badass dongle works with the new update, but I expect it won't. As part of their checks they optimised the battery...

    2018 Bosch software version?

Many thanks for that xena, got so used to riding with the Badass that I don't want to be without it now. Cheers.

    2018 Bosch software version?

Thanks. The bike shop updated it without me knowing and I don't think my Badass dongle will now work, so Im asking them to revert it back to what it was, but they didn't make any note of which version it was originally,
