Kona Ute conversion - must be bought from Amazon…

How hammering bb for few hours is easier than removing front wheel? Front, rear hub and mid drive conversions all have their pros and cons. Could you post a link please?

Kona Ute conversion - must be bought from Amazon…

Battery can be mounted in many places. I have attached it to Topeak pannier rack at the back. Mid drive motor is most difficult to install option and also most expensive. It is great for off road, but if you plan to cycle on roads then front or rear hubs are more than OK. 750W is three times...

Swytch Kit - no communication, nobody cares

Business is business. Better to be safe than sorry. Swytch is a good example. Looks like they took the money and disappeared in thin air (at least according to some of their customers). Hard to blame people for being suspicious after experience like that.

That would be disrespectful. Though I guess I might get easily imprisoned for sedition ;)

I was joking of course. Forgot to add smiley face at the end. If I was to buy spare battery I would maintain it properly. But even then it would deteriorate over time. Having that said I have a funny feeling government will really mess things up at some point. Hmm... interesting... I have...

Might be a good time to buy a spare battery or two before government steps in to help and mess things up like they have done with throttles.

Swytch Kit - no communication, nobody cares

My advice is - try to get your money back and run as fast as you can. You can get much better value for money elsewhere and much faster. Their estimated times are a joke - 10 weeks manufacturing plus 6 weeks shipping plus 2 weeks processing and probably another 24h for final delivery (max). And...

There is definitely a market and need for trustworthy supplier of good batteries in UK. Perhaps Woosh would like to fill that gap? At this moment we rely on what Chinese say about insides of batteries and somehow I don't trust a word of what they say. At this moment most of us just have black...

Aren't chargers supposed to switch to trickle charge after battery is full? Manufacturer of a bike I bought demands battery is left on charge for 24h after it is full every few months if I remember manual well. If not then it would void the warranty. To be honest I have chickened out and didn't...

I still have smart AA/AAA battery charger I bought many years ago. It has option of refreshing old batteries, tells me exactly what level batteries were charged to or amount of energy accumulated by individual batteries if discharged. I wish I had something similar for my ebike batteries.

Except I didn't write anything like that, did I? However you make a good point. I shouldn't blame police at this point as there is very little chance this bike might have been legal.

Insurance is a little help to those who are dead. That is a good thing to hear. On the outside Chinese kits you sell look exactly the same as Chinese kits sold by other companies. I wish we had good cheap batteries manufactured in UK. Wishful thinking or there is a chance it might happen at...

    Another Ebike conversion kit death

At this moment we don't know if they had anything to do with incident or not. It happens I have never seen a bike like that used by ordinary cyclist while most of professional riders delivering stuff use oversized overpowered kits. If they charge batteries the same way how they ride bikes...

Are you being sarcastic? There are many, many posts on this forum related to illegal conversions. And nothing is being done about it. Personally I don't think price of battery can be directly connected to safety. Yes, mostly you get what you pay for, but there are many more factors to...

I am talking about motor size. It is clearly well above allowed by law 250W. I am guessing it is around 1000W. If one has no problems in breaking rules in one area we can only speculate how many other regulations were broken in this case.
