83.6% Anti-Dumping Tariff on Chinese E-bike. Where the Market will go?

I'd question the wisdom of staying so far from home. Should they eventually win their case against China, EBMA confidence may grow and they may well focus elsewhere in the far east. I do believe re-shoring is a sensible longer term strategy.

83.6% Anti-Dumping Tariff on Chinese E-bike. Where the Market will go?

I think it's more the case we've lacked the market - not for want of trying to develop that market mind.

83.6% Anti-Dumping Tariff on Chinese E-bike. Where the Market will go?

It's a mess - that's for sure. But the writing has been on the wall since last autumn. The EU takes any excuse to protect its own industries and in some respects that's not a bad principal to hold. But IMO they are wielding a sledgehammer, aimed very poorly, with only some good intent -...

    Recommendations for a suitable ebike

We've fitted that exact same crank adapter several times and you're absolutely right - excellent design and very well made by them. Pricey though, but well worth it. Fitting one you already have for a test ride should be no problem on any bike and I know our retailers would be only too willing...

After 2, 3 or possibly more signals have been received by the controller from the pedal sensor, or a signal is received from the throttle (if it is set up to allow throttle power without pedalling).

speed sensor and throttle issue - Bafang 001

Perhaps you need to swap over the pedal sensor connection with the throttle connection at the controller, but I'm no expert and the connectors may not be the same.

    testing controller output

Your problem is that your controller needs a signal from the motor sensors to determine which motor phase circuit to power. A throttle may not work unless the controller had received several signals triggered by the pedal sensor too. I commend your determination but you might save a lot of time...

Disabled non-peddler seeks speedy hybrid throttle bike for hills

Oh Abi.... I can tell you that our Classic is our most popular bike. But I've no idea how you would feel on it. How long are your legs, arms, how upright do you sit, how confident a cyclist are you, what luggage to you want to carry? There are so many factors. Many that definitely need a...

Disabled non-peddler seeks speedy hybrid throttle bike for hills

Sorry Abi, I wouldn't recommend a bike for you. I've no idea what you would find comfortable. And I'm sorry that we have no retailer near you yet. But I can recommend Drayton Cycles about 1 hour from Brighton and there you will find a range of bikes from several manufacturers and Tony, who is...

Disabled non-peddler seeks speedy hybrid throttle bike for hills

Hi Abi The Juicy Classic, Compact and Sport all have throttles that can be de restricted and are available on interest free credit. Restricted throttle or not, our bikes are limited to 15.5 mph. Rather than take up another week researching on the Internet you really should take some test...

    testing controller output

It's not quite that simple. Most systems only allow throttles to work when the pedals are turning. To recognise that the pedals are currently being turned the pedal sensor is required to send two or three signals to the controller before any power is sent to the motor... Those signals are...

    World's lightest electric road bike 2019 ?

Yes, it must have come across that way. I just saw the words lightest, and what with my own excitement at recent developments here, couldn't help but join in this discussion. I'll back out of this thread for the time being. Apologies all!

    World's lightest electric road bike 2019 ?

Certainly lots going on where the market focuses on KGs at the moment, with plenty of new frame designs with discrete batteries on show at Shanghai in May. We're showing 2 at this year's NEC Bike Show - one home grown that we'll produce in either Bulgaria, Spain or Portugal and another from a...
