    Oxygen S Cross E-Bike!

Been running energiser plus 700 x 35 since I swapped out the Kendas supplied straight away, haven't had a single puncture in over 2500 miles/9 months. They roll really well and offer great grip in both dry and wet. They are not bad over the gravel paths too. Only £12 each from SJS cycles...

    Country lane commute options

Great thread. A couple of mentions of Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres as a must, just wanna say that I have been running Schwalbe Energizer Plus and not a single puncture in 2300 miles, and they roll really well with plenty of grip. Best bit they are about half the price, at £10.99 per tyre from...

    Country lane commute options

Never tried a crank drive, all I know that my hub motor crossfire-e gets me to work at an average of 15mph without too much effort,I arrive cool and unflustered, and that includes a mile long 7% hill climb (goes up there at 12-13mph), and I'm 100kg and 6ft 2in.

    Country lane commute options

BIKES10 code at Halfords will get you the Crossfire-e below the magic bike2work scheme £1K. Alternatively the Vulcan ebike is already £1K without discount. Both great bikes IMHO. My Crossfire-e has been my (every) daily 12 mile commute since last summer, in all weathers. Flies along...

saw my first oxygen ebike in the flesh today

Sadly no option to add a discount code, so the price you see is what you pay. Agreed they look great, but mechanical disc brakes (instead of hydraulic) on a bike costing nearly £1.4k ?

Not sure if I should Convert or Buy off the shelf

I'd be inclined to go for the Carrera Vulcan over that one. Better brakes (hydraulic) and aguably a better hub drive & components (Suntour HESC). With British Cycling discount (10%) and/or Halfords code BIKES10 (10% discount) (or both) you 'll see it less than £800 (both discounts). Take off...

    Battery charging

I've had a crossfire-e since last August, used daily for the commute to work (12 mile round trip, one big hill), on full assist (no sweat !), and recharge every night, using a timer plug set to 4 hours (...

So hows the £10 Schwalbes on the Cube any different to the £10 Schwalbe Rapid Robs they put on the Haibike Sduro SL29 ?

    Help me choose please!

You're comparing a Delite which retail at £4k+ with a bike that's half that price ? Quality bikes as you put it do cost much more because they use more expensive components, you don't get that for free you pay for it in the cost of the bike. I wouldn't expect to change the tyres on a £4k+ bike...

Seriously, your judging the other components by something that everyone changes on every bike after buying ? The bike must be crap, it's got a £2 bell on it lol

Bimbling around the country lanes and found a classic car rally to watch

It's great what you see out and about, I stumbled across a vintage tractor ploughing competition the other day, sat on my bike peering over the hedge of a country lane in the middle of nowhere for a good half hour, surprisingly captivating

I think the cube is well specced for the money If it was my £2k I'd get the slightly 'touring' version of your choice, this one http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Cross-Hybrid-Pro-Allroad-500-2017-Electric-Bike_97468.htm It's a shame you couldn't of used one of their £300 off easter vouchers (£2k+)...

My first long ride on my new Carrera Crossfire

Welcome jonjoe to the forum and crossfire-e owners club ;) Glad you're loving the bike, looks like you've got some great countryside to explore on it. I've had mine since August last year, and have just clocked up 2k miles. Use it commute to work daily, never let me down, plus 45-50 mile day...

Carrera Vulcan E-MTB put through it paces video

Looking good, seems to hold up well. Perhaps Halfords should replace their lame video on their site with this one lol Yours for £1k minus discounts/flash sales (British Cycling 10% off etc), ideal for the cycle2work scheme...

    Tyres

Look no further than these Schwalbe Energisers, not a single puncture in over 2000 miles, and only 10.99 each at SJS (much more expensive everywhere else). I run the 700 x 35 and they are great, good grip, even in winter, and really low rolling resistance for a puncture proof tyre...
