it's a lower spec motor and 418wh battery plus 200 quid more than the city 300 I linked to, so not so much a deal. at 1299 with that spec I might of taken a risk with planet x

The 2 below, at £1299 are probably among the cheapest crank drive bikes available in the UK at present. Some may warn you off Plant X as a reliable supplier though. The Frappe 300 represents great value with a 500wh battery and Shimano Steps E6100 motor (60nM)...

I think you both are missing the point, the bikes are different models, the H30 with a 500w powertube battery the H25 with a 625w powertube battery, the rest of the specs are identical

confused...? I meant get the bike with the powertube 500 battery and buy a spare powertube 500, not sure what a powertube 400 has got to do with it lol

That extra £300 is halfway to a spare powertube 500 battery, will keep the bike lighter and you'll have mega all day range with the spare ready in the car boot for mid day swap out

Thats a heavy bike at about 27kg, and the geometry wont lend itself to downhill/technical riding either. Keep the Kat and drop another £3.8k on below and at least you'll be able to use both batteries on both bikes for all day MTB'ing or long touring rides/ holidays...afterall, it's only money...
