    New Project Started

I would try to lift known 5kg 10 kg 15 kg etc masses of water, and if the discrepancy is linear or close enough, they are salvageable and a +/- Xkg label or a laminated table may be all you need.. , if not linear or close bin it ;) good scales can be got via ebay auctions if patient.. took me...

Fwiw when circa 1993 i decided to spend a weekend cycling/camping along the Ridgeway as i was lodged in newbury at the time. anyway, i got a lift as the a34 itself is not cycle friendly and started off and after about 5 mins i had a puncture,, thorns.. no problem i had a brand new puncture kit...

    New Project Started

Sure your aware but in the absence of known weights to calibrate any scales water @ just about 1kg for 1l (1000 x the measured s.g @20c if pedantic) can be a good ad-hoc test.

How do you deal with a puncture/breakdown when out?

I can see a market for roadside assistance for cycling commuters who would have a real benefit of a minimal hassle fixed/replacement cycle ready for the return /next leg of a daily commute, but for me as a casual/leisure cyclist any breakdown and fix is (fingers crossed) 'par for the course' and...

Think i might need talking down..

Thanks for the link, Ive not gone iron hunting yet, when i do and should i fail its good to have a fall back option , there is also the ' if it aint bust - dont fix it' factor aiding my reticence to get stuck in with numb fingers in the cold garage.. A second lights only battery not only...

    Bike stand half price Amazon

may i suggest you drop it off with plod, if unclaimed after 6 weeks they used to offer the bike to the finder with some paperwork that if later picked up by an insurance database would get you off the receiving stolen goods hook, It was quite a lucrative situation when coming across many dumped...

    Battery mounting (Hailong)

Fwiw i had a similar issue and have mounted a battery on the top of the top tube, The difference it makes to the centre of gravity of the bike is noticeable but not so much to be a determent once used to.

    That's the spokes done

Having recently re-spoked a busted wheel with shiny silver spokes to replace what was black painted, I fully understand the aesthetic requirement.. while silver spokes add to visibility at night a tad which is a real benefit, i cant help thinking they are too 'loud' for the bikes over all...

Front ebike controller powered light recommendation

My limited understanding of lights switched by motor controllers is that the switching capacity whilst at motor voltage levels is not capable of handling much when it comes to amps, so many aftermarket lamps could draw more than the switching transistor can handle. So a like for like replacement...

Converting from Swytch to standard equipment

Keywords for a google search include " julet, pinout, ebike controller" along side any specific brand, rating, and type info you have. focusing on picture results initially should lead you towards forum posts from folk in similar situations and the links that helped them.. Taken 1 connection...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

For a sureal, perhaps dated, but imho visionary take on AI i suggest John Sladek's Roderick novels and 'the reproductive system'.
