    Pedelecs Newsletter

We will soon be introducing a new weekly newsletter. Rather than assume that everyone has already opted-in, we'll send out an initial email asking you all to select whether you wish to receive it or not.

    Promotional posts from businesses/advertisers

Yes, my intention was never to stop the trade involvement, just to separate the pure promotional posts away from the general discussion. I think the Raddar post (sorry to single you out Ian!) would be best in the Blog area. For product announcements which members do want to see, perhaps we...

They will, have a look at Aldby's avatar to see the 'official' trade member designation which will be applied to all paying advertisers. Those who are not paying, will just have the 'Trade member' and there will be other restrictions around what they can and can't post.

Another thing to bear in mind folks, is that it is a new feature, even I am not certain how it will pan out. As with most things, you give it a try. If it doesn't work, we'll learn from it and move on!

    Promotional posts from businesses/advertisers

This is a perfect example of what I see the Blog for. An advertiser or a business/commercial member can blog about the goings on within their business, or new products, special offers etc.. It's not intrusive and you have a choice whether to read it or not.

    Promotional posts from businesses/advertisers

There have been a number of promotional posts recently from 'commercial' members informing the forum of a new product, an event or an offer etc. With the recent site upgrade, we introduced a new 'Blog' section where I thought these posts would go. That way the 'selling' is kept separate from...

Any news on the new 2011/2012 Wisper range?

Hi David, Best place to put this would be in the Blog section. I'd like the Blog to be used for announcements, the forum for discussion afterwards.

Can someone clear the law thing with e-bikes.

I hope David (Wisper) won't mind me re-posting a comment from another discussion: The European law we are harmonising with, says that throttle only can be used up to 6kph without the pedals turning, and it is absolutely legal to have a throttle on an EPAC as long as the pedals are turning.

Can someone clear the law thing with e-bikes.

De-restrict button I've added a post to the start of our guide: Can I buy an electric bike with an off-road mode?, in essence: The following has been taken from the DfT's Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPCs) in Great Britain factsheet updated in May 2010: We are aware of some electric...
