Help! New e-bike for 16 mile commute

another vote for NCM https://www.leoncycle.co.uk/NCM-Venice-Plus-Trekking-E-Bike on offer at the moment at £1199 - 768wh battery will get you to work and back easily on a single charge and I think the Das Kit hub motors are pretty pokey so no problem with hills

    My Cargo bike build.

I haven't re-read the whole thread, but I guess you have already upgraded to a 180mm front disc rotor (and caliper spacer) ? Very cheap upgrade for better braking power if not

Disposing of a faulty ebike battery

Thanks guys. My local tip lists car batteries and 'batteries' as accepted so I'm hoping they'll be able to take the ebike battery. I've heard Aldi have recycling bins instore that it would seem are managed by a company who recycle batteries, however, I don't fancy taking apart my battery and...

Disposing of a faulty ebike battery

Hi all I have a 5 year old Yosepower Hailong 36v 13ah downtube battery that has failed. I cannot charge it (charger initially sent 30-40w into it for a few minutes then went to green)and although I can intermittently get it powered on (the leds on the top of the battery flash up full) and I...

Someone needs to come up with a throttle that looks like a retro bell !

Bike chased late Friday night by loons

Yep so on highest assistance and peddling the throttle wouldn't make any difference (other than acceleration from a standstill) up to your set pedel assist limit (25kph) but the throttle would keep the assistance beyond 25kph when open up to whatever you set the throttle top speed (on the motor...

Bike chased late Friday night by loons

Yep I agree on avoiding the area even if it means a longer detour. Maybe change your shift pattern to finish earlier too for a couple of weeks. These goons will move on to something else to entertain themselves

Bike chased late Friday night by loons

Maybe it's time in addition to upping to 18a to also fit a throttle with a higher assist top speed (in the controller settings), you can still peddle like hell but with the throttle open it'll overide your normal 25kph pedal assist fixed top speed

Vitus Escarpe 275 CR Mountain Bike

Yep, whatever floats yer boat. I was wondering about mid drives on the basis of how durable the Nexus 3 speed when paired with a mid drive. Plus I have a Bafang BBS01 mid drive as a spare. If it munches the geared hub with the extra grunt then its a non starter

Suggestions for Cycle Route Planner ?

Another vote for cycle.travel to plan routes and then export the gpx files to komoot for turn by turn navigation. Been using this combo for the last few years and it's served me well. As mentioned, Komoot lifetime worldwide maps can be had for sub £20 when on offer
