    Legal EBIKE LOOPHOLES

It doesn't matter how you call it. A throttle, a button, a sensor, a thumber... everybody calls it a throttle. People really don't care about semantics that much. They want to have a line of defense when stopped by police and when police will try to take their bike away. That is what I would do...

There is demand for this stuff already. Many fat bikes cruising around. I guess people who are keen to buy 4x4 or SUV are main potential buyers. I mean those who don't have budget for 4x4 or SUV just yet... Completely not my cup of tea.

No Andy. You can have legal EAPC with a throttle. Insurance, helmets are not required by law (but recommended). I am not sure why @flecc agreed with your comment. Perhaps he would like to elaborate.

1.2 Cycles where power can be obtained even when the rider is not pedalling (twist and go) Under European law these cycles are categorised as “L1e-A” and are required to obtain EU or domestic type approval. They are not required to be registered. There is however an exemption for cycles where...

Legal status of ebikes that are identical to those that have gone through the DVSA approval process but haven't been tested

"The new class for Twist & Go EAPCs is called "250W LPM", a sub-category of the standard "Low Powered Moped", which is the L1e-A category which T&G EAPCs fell into before. The new edition of the test manual reduces the requirements somewhat for this new sub-category. For example, a kickstand is...

Exactly. I think we all got it wrong and some serious recalibration is needed. We should all quit our jobs, claim benefits, buy expensive bikes (not Argos clankers) and blame bloody migrants for taking our jobs.

You claim benefits for as long as I remember. Nothing to do with bike crash.

Legal status of ebikes that are identical to those that have gone through the DVSA approval process but haven't been tested

Don't forget they are technically mopeds, so different rules apply. I don't have mudguards, kickstand and balls on my brakes, but no throttle either. I learned to ride without it and don't miss it that much really.

Legal status of ebikes that are identical to those that have gone through the DVSA approval process but haven't been tested

I am guessing it is a bit like driving a car without valid MOT. Why are you asking? Woosh and Pedibal go through all this fuss to get full throttles approved. Much better option is to have throttle active while you pedal IMO. Legal without all the fuss.

There is no way you could pass my emission sniffing test. The truth is you guys stink. Stink like hell. When I ride or drive behind one of you I can't breathe.
