Puncture on rear wheel on electric bikes!

I’d recommend Schwalbe tyre leavers as they have a clip built in that helps hold the tyre in place while refitting  Although swapping tubes is quite infrequent for me (fingers crossed) it still only takes 3 to 4 minutes, I think having a crank drive helps :p

    Komoot ....Very impressed

It’s a free app and I’ve been using it for years. Some times to plan a route if I’m leading a ride but mostly I use it to record where I’ve been

    Stem extender

This still doesn’t make sense to me, if the stem and extender Are both 1 1/8“ (28.6mm) then the slot in the extender doesn’t actually close, in fact the difference in size between it being loose and fully tightened should be barely noticeable by eye. I’m still curious to know what went wrong...

    Stem extender

Over the years I’ve used several cheap risers off the bay without issue. It sounds to me like you have a duff one, all of mine have been a reasonable close fit prior to tightening the bolts.

    Chain lube

In my trail bike days (particularly in the winter) we’d use chainsaw oil, cheap enough and didn't fling off like regular motor oil. That was back in the 80’s. A couple of years ago I thought Id try it on my pushbikes, it was fine on the hub geared bike but I messed up the gear shifting on my...

    Traffic Boom - legal?

A flashing light on a stick could be mistaken as an indicator, a nail on a stick could turn out to be very expensive (premeditated wilful damage) Ive considered an egg on a stick or even a large paintball but the truth is the type of people that pass to close are probably already tightly wound...

    FREE E-bike Webinar Series!

OK so I know if you want to adopt a child you have to jump through many hoops ( smoking is a big barrier) but with a bike dose someone make sure your going to clean it probably and have a nice place to store it when not in use before your allowed to buy one. No but seriously, A first time...

Being given the runaround by a bike shop

The delay in getting your bike may not be the shops fault but the poo customer service is entirely wrong. my latest bike is a cube acid and I pre-ordered it from Rutland cycles. It was due to be delivered January 2018 and I sold the bike I had at the time in anticipation of the new bike coming...

    Current Bike Theft Danger

Do you have a link to this article ? were the thieves successful and in what area did this happen ? its of particular interest to me as I’m nearly always cycling alone, just two days ago I did a 62 mile ride on very quiet back roads and I’m now thinking do I need to ride “tooled up”

    Puncture repair kits

Ive changed my opinion about scab patches. Since posting those views I’ve had two suspected punctures, both turned out to be failed scab patches. Admittedly they had been in place and working fine since last year. but that’s much of a conciliation.

    New helmet required

As others have Said, try before you buy. two same sized helmets from different manufacturers can feel totally completely different when wearing them. I’ve only owned 3 shop brought lids myself. Suspension seat post advice please

unfortunately all the suspension posts I know of add several inches in height to your seating position. if you’re seatpost is already as low as it can go, no suspension post will work. your next best option would be a sprung seat, I have one of these on one of my bikes. (I’m 93kg and it’s...

    Puncture repair kits

I carry glueless skab type patches, OK while inflated and the tube rubber is expanded but don’t do so well left on a deflated tube, as the tube shrinks back to its original size the patch outer is rigid and doesn’t shrink, it just creases instead. I’ve never had a problem with scabs while in...
