    Smallest BMS in the world?

If I understand what you're saying correctly then, switching to a Li-Ion battery makes more sense? It might provide a more stable power source and more reliable charging? The original battery was indeed marked 3.7v 240mAh and I replaced it like for like.

    Smallest BMS in the world?

Oh! I did wonder. Well here's goes the indicator lights story.. I bought a set off eBay (an integrated brake light and two amber indicators, with a wired handlebar switch, and it runs off ultrabright LED's and 3xAA). At < 5 quid I wasn't expecting much. And like many things from China, it was...

    Smallest BMS in the world?

D8veh do you recommend I use a higher current charger then (at the same voltage)? This is why I need you on our new CycleCharge "Battery Recycling, Research & Development Team" ;)

    Smallest BMS in the world?

Oh you mean the DECT stuff? It's just a little gadget from China off eBay, basically it replaces the need for a telephone. It pairs with any GAP/DECT base unit and acts like a telephone handset, allowing you to receive and make calls. It's a clever little device and I've never seen anything like...

CycleCharge: Anyone need e-bike motor, kit or battery?

Thanks very much Kenny, that's kind of you to say and appreciated! If we can help save people some money in these hard times everyone is experiencing, glad to help out. Also by buying through a reliable source backed by people in the UK, it takes the risk and uncertainty out of dealing with...

CycleCharge: Anyone need e-bike motor, kit or battery?

It's not too late! I've extended it until tomorrow, as I realised some might not see this and China's timezone difference and the time it takes to gather and wire funds, means we'll have a day or two to play with anyway.

    Smallest BMS in the world?

Check out this, been doing some repairs/experiments in my little electronics workshop, and I discovered what is quite possibly the smallest BMS ever! It's in the red square and is only a couple of mm across, it manages the charging for a tiny 3.7v battery for a DECT gadget device! At the top...

CycleCharge: Anyone need e-bike motor, kit or battery?

Well I've been absent from the forum for a while and so has Lynda, due to our illnesses. Things have gone quiet for a while on the CycleCharge front last year, but I haven't been idle and neither has Lynda! I had some very positive meetings last year and discussions, both with interested...

CycleCharge: Anyone need e-bike motor, kit or battery?

LAST ORDERS GUYS!!! :) OK guys, it's 'last orders' today before I begin invoicing everyone and place the order with China. I've got all your orders sorted cost-wise, it's just the freight side of things I'm doing now. I'm hoping to have it wrapped up today. Sorry it's dragged on a bit due to...

CycleCharge: Anyone need e-bike motor, kit or battery?

Yes buying from China is a very complicated/risky and expensive business, if you're dealing with unknown goods or factories. Unfortunately there's a distinct lack of quality control awareness in some Chinese factories, and a lot of unscrupulous people who aren't honest or straightforward to deal...

CycleCharge: Anyone need e-bike motor, kit or battery?

Exactly thanks d8veh. I think there's some confusion over what not-for-profit means. People need to think of CycleCharge as essentially a charity that engages in some commercial activities but not-for-profit, that's all. We obviously have to cover our costs and receive some revenue, but profit...

CycleCharge: Anyone need e-bike motor, kit or battery?

In a nutshell.. economy of scale, and subsidies. Just because we're selling at close to cost price, doesn't mean we're selling rubbish or stuff that isn't as good quality as goods sold at 3-4x the price. We're just a not-for-profit org that's all. The motors, batteries and kits we supply are...

CycleCharge Project - Announcements & Discussions

Yes, the kettle-style plug (IEC) has become the connector of choice in the e-bike industry (at least for DIY'ers and in China). It makes perfect sense to use IEC connectors between controllers and e-bike batteries I think because: a) It's designed for safety and approved by the electrical...
