    Wet or dry lube?

I use muc off wet lube but looking around I wish I'd tried just using WD40. The vloke GCN uses WD40 for the lot and says it works brilliantly.

    Shaft drive Ebikes?

I have done this. Got a puncture last November and didn't have a spare tube on me. Couldn't walk the bike back on the road so had to go through footpaths which all had awkward kissing gates I couldn't fit the bike through.... Not recommended  As soon as Schwalbe get their act together and...

    Shaft drive Ebikes?

I'm interested in shafts and belts because I have no problem paying for a premium product if that's a guarantee of a reliable service life. With my ebike I've already had to take it back to the shop because of a crap chain, and it's a bit of gear which I'm having to clean and oil at least...

    Gocycle GS - Lock recommendations

Hi Harry welcome to the world of pedelecs. Unfortunately while your bike certainly has the cool look like something from Tron, from a security locking up standpoint there are some serious problems. there arent any clear points over which you'd put a quality D lock. If you put it around the...

    Driverless Car kills again

Obviously it is dreadful that someone has been killed. But this doesn't put me off autonomous vehicles. The deceased was struck crossing the road - so while I am not jumping to a conclusion about blame, but if she'd come out from behind cover for example even an AV can't brake from e.g. 50 to 0...

    Should lights be mandtory

No. Everyone should have them but they shouldn't be mandatory. Cyclists must not let themselves be out on the defensive here. We're the ones being maimed and killed by motor vehicles. We're not the ones who should bear the police scrutiny.

is there a phone gps app that shows the route you have ridden

Strava does do this - go through your training log, click on a ride, and the route you went on should be shown. You can also use the third party service 'relive' to render a very nifty animation of where you've been.

    Puncture proofing tyres

I think it's because they don't want punters cocking up the installation and creating a reputation that they're no good. Apparently a bad installation will make the tyre pull itself apart over time.

    Puncture proofing tyres

http://www.bike-eu.com/sales-trends/nieuws/2018/3/schwalbe-takes-airless-tyres-to-next-level-10133030 I've got my eye on these and would definitely look into giving them a test ride. If it's comfortable enough I might go for it, can't stand having to carry around a pump, levers, spare tubes...

Ebiketips.road.cc review the Panda mid drive conversion kit (£600)

http://ebiketips.road.cc/content/reviews/electric-conversion-kits/panda-m-drive-conversion-kit-1643 If you compare the cost of one of these plus a good 2nd hand bike against my pedelec you could make a saving of over a quarter grand.

    Bike for comfort

Depending on the climbs I can recommend mine, especially if you live near a Decathlon. When you factor in the tyre upgrade the cost is the same as the Big Bear LS.

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

The joke relative proportions isn't the basis for the change, it's an attack on the government's treating motorists like royalty and leaving the cyclists picking up scraps from the table. And now they're coming after as as dangerous public enemies out to murder your granny.

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

Au contraire, I'd reply that this supports the business case for more spending. The % is low because cyclists are maligned on the road, disproportionately maimed and killed by motorists, and the fear of road cycling is what is keeping masses of Brits from pedalling or e-biking to work or their...

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

There's undeniably been progress - you compare the early 90s (when my dad worked as a cycle courier in London) to today there have clearly been big improvements. But cyclists have not been as nearly strong a lobby as they ought to be, relative to the motorists who have had untold billions of...

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

The worry isn't so much that we're all going to be sent to jail - it's that this is all anti-cyclist mood music. If you're now campaigning for segregated cycle lanes next to pedestrians, you're doing it in the context of politicians and every other person with a megaphone to the media banging on...
